“I have question...” Zed said suddenly, looking over at the princess that he now called his girlfriend. It’s still crazy for him, that a zombie from Halloween Town, would end up with a princess, but he loved her so much, he can’t imagine life without her now. “... Does your brother, like, hate me or something?”

“I don’t know, Addie... But it sure seemed that way. You just... Left.” It took Zed a long time to get over it, Addison leaving. Even if they had been broken up, still, he had been clinging on to some hope that they would find their way back together. But that had hope had been squashed when she left, and it seemed she was never coming back. “With no explanation...”

Ricky smiled over at Addison, a light, carefree look on his face. He liked hanging out with her, she was sweet and kind and always said nice things. Plus, he had to admit it was nice hanging out with someone who didn’t ask about Nini, he loved Red but with how things were now, not talking about Nini was easier than talking about her. With Addison though, he wasn’t sure exactly how to describe their relationship, while they were definitely friends, it felt different than that. She almost felt like a sister, or even a mother, which was weird considering she was younger than him. But she was always fussing over him, sticking up for him, helping him, sometimes it felt like she was the older one. Take now for example, she was helping him with basketball, helping him improve at the sport so he could improve at Troy. At first, he thought it was kind of dumb to learn a skill just to play a role, but he had to admit, it was actually helping a lot. He was taking a break now, dropping down next to Addison and letting out a long breath. “You know, I really appreciate all this, the help... But you don’t really have to do this. I mean, I’m sure you probably have better things to do...” Okay yes, the attention was nice, having someone who seemed to care about him was nice, but that didn’t stop him from feeling guilty. Did she really want to be doing this? Helping some kid learn to play basketball just for a role in a musical?

The two were making their way back from a date at the Enchanted Lake, but halfway through their walk, it had started to rain. Zed was trying to guide them both back to Auradon through it, but it was rather difficult when the rain was making his hands wet, which meant his kept slipping out of Addison. On top of that, the ground was wet and muddy, and she was wearing date shoes that weren’t really equipped for getting home in the rain. After another slip of their hands, and Addison almost falling, her made a sudden quick decision. He pulled his girlfriend close to him, then bent down to pick her up, bridal style, in his arms. “I’m sorry, Addi, I just wanna get us home... And I don’t think our other method was working out too well. Is this okay?”

“Addi listen,” Bethany started, settling down next to her younger sister on the other’s bed. “I want you to know I don’t have a problem with Zed. Actually, I approve of him, he seems very sweet and you seem so much happier since you’ve met him...” She trailed off for a second, reaching out and giving Addison’s arm a gentle squeeze. “But regardless of how much I approve, it is still my duty as your older sister to have a talk with him.”

her words, likely meant to reassure, only make zed frown, shaking his head a little. “well, i wish you didn’t. i don’t care about feeling like an outcast or whatever, it’s nothing i’m not used to. but you... you...” he steps forward a little, reaching out to grab one of her hands, looking her in the eyes. “you’re far too amazing for that. you don’t deserve to ever feel like that.”

Zed can’t help but laugh a little, and he nods. “I know, Addie, I know.” He says, leaning forward and picking her up with ease and carefully sets her on the counter. “But for now, just sit tight right here, okay? I’d rather not risk anything, that way if anything does get broken, I can take the blame.”
