@memorystxrs liked for a starter ( Lan Xichen & Feng Wu )
Sanctuary was not something that Feng Wu was used to. This place however, had a feeling that Feng Wu couldn’t explain, so un-intimidating it was intimidating. How strange.
Though here she was, having strayed into another Sects land, she had been cursing herself for the last hour. This was stupid. She shouldn’t have come here. There was enough embarrassment attached to her family name, all of it her fault, she shouldn’t have added extra. While it wasn’t going to affect her, she worried for her mother, weak and left poor by their excommunication. It would be those around her that paid the highest price. Losing your cultivation was shame enough, falling from the position of Celestial Princess to comoner, more so. To partially regain your cultivation and lose the entrance exam to the most elite school on the continent.
Unthinkable to show her face again. What was more unthinkable, was the fact that she truly didn’t understand the plotting and scheming it had taken to orchestrate her fall. You couldn’t allow someone genuinely kind to rise to power. Could you?
Careful, she sat, on her knees, swallowed the lump in her throat and tried to hide the shaking breath. With all of her heart, Feng Wu wished that the news of the fallen Princess had not spread, the last three years had been hard enough but she also knew better than to expect things from people. People liked to gossip. Even more so when it was someone elite who lost their position.
“I um…” why was this so hard? Why did the simple act of asking for help rip her up? A smile, a small bow of her head, the familiar red and white robes of the Feng Sect wrapped around her, the long sleeves and carefully crafted white and red flowers in her hair, had the air of a noble woman. Despite how much she hated using her heritage to get things, it was useful. The once Sect air offered an apology, “I understand that it is unconventional to turn up unannounced, I did not mean to offend.” Though truthfully, that might have been the last of her worries, travelling without any escort, alone, was much more dangerous than asking for help.
“I’m...simply passing through, though I hope that you would allow me to stay for a day or two, while the worst of the weather passes.” A deep breath through her nose, she didn’t have money, well...not much. “I’m a doctor,” a good one at that, funny how second lives worked. “I could offer assistance if you need it? Or, elixirs to bolster your supplies.”
