The act of watching a clock never failed to amuse Theo. So many students would pretend to be invested in their studies, but without fail, that attention more often than not drifted towards the ticking hands that would soon signal their class' end. A small half-smile tugged on his lips once the bell finally did ring, moving to stand as everyone began to file out in a mad dash. "Alright guys, don't forget to complete assignments ten through twenty-five by tomorrow! Mr. Park's still out on sick leave, so don't even think about trying to skip out on it because yes, it's still gonna be me taking attendance tomorrow," Theo rolled his eyes at an exaggerated groan from the bunch, simply waving them off with a small chuckle. They really were good kids, all in all; though he never did believe in a "bad student" anyway. Just as he was about to sit back down, his eyes narrowed onto a desk that still held it's occupant. Kai? Odd, though he didn't sub many classes with the boy, he'd spent enough time around him to know that he wasn't this... lethargic. Frowning a bit, Theo moved around his own desk to approach Kai, leaning over the red-head a bit. "Kai? Class is out, you're gonna be late for next period,"

It was impossible to describe how Theo felt when around Leland. Intense? Well, yes that was quite accurate. But that one word only served to encompass the literal plethora of emotions that rose and fell in thunderous time with catching even a glimpse of the pirate. It barely scratched the surface, when there was so much more that lay beneath. He was often accustomed to feeling inadequate around certain people; stronger, faster, even smarter - even with Leland, the way Theo found himself awkwardly stumbling over his own feet and words seemed magnified tenfold more than usual. But the feelings didn't discourage him, not in the slightest. Instead, he yearned for nothing more than to rise above them, to prove to himself that yes, he actually was worthy of someone as breathtaking as Leland. 

All of the nights spent pouring over the 'where' and 'what' of their first date seemed so insignificant to Theo now. Simplicity had been horrendously overlooked - who didn't love a picnic? The setting sun painting purple and orange across a twilight sky, scattered with the beginnings of stars. Still bouncing on his heels like a child with a secret too large to contain, Theo could barely contain himself as he tugged Leland along the cement path of the park. "Come on, we're almost there! It's just up this hill, oh, you're gonna love it. And even if you don't love it, well... you'll at least like it, I promise,"

Of course her apartment would be the first place to look. Theo had thought the option far too simplistic initially - seriously, why would Katherine even want to be near the place where she had been so upset and distraught? Maybe she didn't want to be anywhere else, though. At the moment, a million things could be running through her head, and Theo wouldn't even begin to know where to peg one thought over another. He'd wasted no time in heading out to his car, nonplussed by his erratic and, generally unsafe driving just to reach her in time. Whatever was going on, he had the feeling that a timer was set, leaving each tick of the clock dire. After bounding up the stairs, sweat dripping down the sides of his face, he began knocking frantically. 

"Katherine, open up!"

Fingers idly dropped atop the portion of desk free of studying clutter. It was mildly embarrassing, to be so unprepared for a tutoring session that had been scheduled weeks ago. Normally, Theo would be on top of his work already, fully prepared to devote one-hundred percent of his attention to his students. Well, there was a first time for every blunder, right? He paused in highlighting a section of Leland's work to stifle a yawn into his fist, feeling the malaise settling into his bone marrow. Gods, he needed sleep badly. Maybe if he just... let his eyes rest for a moment. Only a moment, though. A little break from word after words on endless pages of paper...

It hadn't been more than a few days since Theo had last kept in touch with Katherine. But, though he was hesitant to admit it, being without her presence felt... odd. When she had initially promised to take care of him while recovering, he had been unsure about whether or not she would follow through with her words. But she had, to his great surprise, pleasant as well, and despite the circumstances that had led to Theo's being injured in the first place, he was truly grateful. Now that he was feeling considerably less charbroiled, paying Katherine a visit was certainly in order. A few gentle knocks on her door were delivered before his fingers rested along the strap of his trusty messenger bag, rocking back on his heels while he waited for an answer.

Self-loathing was honestly fairly common place in Theo's daily life. Never admitting to it aloud, the amount of times he could have nearly punched himself for doing or saying something wrong, or at the wrong time, in the wrong place... Well, they amounted quite a lot. And he could never seem to let go of certain blunders - but especially his most recent foot-in-mouth moment. He couldn't imagine himself being Katherine's favorite person, no matter how badly he wanted to rationalize that he was blowing the entire situation out of proportion. She'd professed her love to him, and while that love was currently shared with somebody else, she'd still said it. After multiple texts, calls and voicemail's had failed to get a hold of her, Theo decided it might be best to revisit the scene of the foul up. Little could be done for the uneasiness bubbling in his gut along the trek, nothing but to swallow it down like a horse pill and pray to the Gods for the best. A few sparse, quiet knocks upon her door before his voice rose, timid: "Katherine? It's... It’s Theo,”
