when lily had found out about peter, she had been devastated. peter had been one of their friends for years and for him to betray them was hard to face. she had heard mouthfuls from everyone else about what happened but lily still couldn’t wrap her head around why he would do something like this. how long had he been a death eater? what lured him to be one? surely, there was a simple answer but lily didn’t know if that would happen. still, she wanted to find out for herself. she had always liked peter. he had a way about him that held her interest and to hear the news made her heart drop to her stomach. it was hard to believe but it was clear which side he was on. it felt the same as it had when she had found out about severus. there was no turning back for them, they had made their own minds up. she didn’t want to believe the news but she would be naïve to believe it wasn’t.
lily hadn’t told anyone else where she was going or who she was seeing. she knocked against the door and when she heard no reply she knocked again. “it’s me, peter. it’s lily. please open the door,” she tried, slightly getting irritated. she stood away from the door with her arms crossed. “open the damn door.”
