Okay okay so it seems like eothas wasn't super thrilled with sapadal's existence and conduct but very clearly didn't think they were malicious and does express sympathy for them. But he also worries about the ekida's ability to "chart their own path" when "they live in fear of its whims" which is very interesting, because this is, of course, his great concern in deadfire. Except this is before woedica was overthrown (iirc) and she's very big on keeping kith on their charted courses so.... Not really that different, is it buddy? (Though eothas does seem to be realizing how little the other gods think of kith here, which is interesting) He says that he believes sapadal is acting out of fear, and that they might be able to work to temper their whims. He also insists that the gods need to think things through, not ask hastily, and come to an accord before acting at almost every turn.
Though interestingly, eothas seems to take a much harsher line on sapadal if you listen for galawain's voice (rather than for his or the court augur specific "there's more at play here" option), saying it's "regrettable" and that sapadal "might have learned from us" but not disagreeing with galawain's insistence that sapadal has shown that they cannot be trusted with power.
They also discuss how they must overcome the adra barrier that separates them and sapadal, though ultimately it's a moot point as eothas realizes that one of the other gods has already moved to attack sapadal, with galawain more or less approving of this, and then the conversation ends
I'm very curious to know how things played out once that god (who I'm like 99% sure was woedica) made her move. Galawain at least seemed like he intended to join in. I don't know if the others joined her in her attack, abstained, or possibly even attempted to oppose her? I'm SO very curious, especially given what few other details we got on the attack itself....
