Most rugs don’t need replacing
A lot of rugs are structurally fine.
They just need the edges secured before the wear gets worse.

How To Protect Your Boat During a Hurricane This year, hurricane season is in effect from June 1st to November 30th. During this time, hurricane winds can easily blow stronger than 200 miles per hour. That’s why you need to have an immediate boat hurricane plan to protect your boat during a bad storm. The following tips will explain the best ways to secure your vessel. Where To Store It In order to know how to protect your boat, you have to determine where it will stay during a hurricane. Naturally, a boat is safest in a hurricane hole or indoor storage. If you don’t have that option, then you can also protect it on land or in the marina. To save yourself from some hassle, know where your boat is going before setting out to buy supplies. Ashore Storage If you decide to take your boat out of the water, it’s a good idea to do it at least 48 hours ahead of time. This will give you a plenty of time to make sure everything is secure. If you don’t have indoor storage for your vessel, then follow these steps to protect it: >>For some boats, you’ll need to know how to secure a boat on a trailer during a hurricane. To do this, place wooden or cement blocks near the wheels underneath the trailer frame and deflate the tires. >>Use mooring lines to tie your boat to fixed structures. It should be tight enough to restrict movement, but enough to strain the line. Avoid tying it to trees or other objects that can move. >>Double up your mooring lines and make sure to attach extras to different locations from the other lines. This will ensure the boats fixed position, even if a line or the thing its attached to become loose. >>Make sure to put chafe protectors on your lines, you can use an old garden hose to make chafe protectors, or you can buy them at the store. >>Take down sails and biminis. Take out cushions or anything else that is removable. Make sure the bilge is drained and that seacocks and portholes are closed. The Marina If you plan to let your boat tough out the storm in the water, keep in mind that protecting your boat is also a courtesy to other boats around it. And make sure that it is stored in a protected marina with high pilings, a floating dock, and good footing for anchors. Just as with inland protection, you need to strap down your boat to a fixed structure using mooring lines. But in a marina, there are a few other precautions you need to take too. >>Position your boat in the slip, facing the direction of the waves and wind. >>Put down a couple of heavy anchors to add weight and help secure the boat's position. >>Fix your lines to high pilings. Make sure to give it a little slack, but not so much that the boat moves around violently. >>Hang all available fenders around your boat’s exterior. This will provide protection for boats that become unattached or are hit by other vessels during the storm. >>Fully charge the bilge pump battery, and shut off anything else that uses electricity. This way the bilge will continuously drain throughout the storm. >>Close all plugs, portholes, or other openings to prevent flooding. After The Storm Take your vessel to Boat Butler to asses the damage after a hurricane or major storm. Their boat detailing services will clean up any mess or small damages done to the boat. It also affords the staff an opportunity to give a thorough inspection. Check out their other services to find even more ways to prepare your boat for the next hurricane.
