Ok seriously do people on my facebook have, like, no understanding of the fact that I know them all?
I can think of no other reason why I keep having to step in between internet friends, high school friends, uni friends, housemates, relatives, people from my old church etc etc to defend them from each other.
Is there no etiquette for this? Do I just have to say "oh by the way, be nice, because I know and presumably like everyone here and don't really want to see you all drawn into a pointless bitching contest"? Isn't that a frickin' given?
The best thing about having a laptop in my bedroom is - well, probably not what you think.
I like to be able to react to stuff without being watched. So when I laugh or tear up or gently touch the screen in an effort to reassure a person in a GIF -
(oh, like your teddies never got sad?)
- there's nobody to see me emoting at a lifeless screen.
And yes it's lame, and no I probably shouldn't admit to it, but I love emotionally engaging with stuff on the internet because it's so much simpler than people and I can't really get it wrong.
