Intern Report Episode #149: Fox News Santa, Cheif Keef, Beyonce...

What a flavorful #AffirmationFriday!

Thanks to the chatroom-mates that dropped their hopes for the future throughout this holiday season!

In "News You Can Use", Saturday Night Live does a secret casting call for Black female comediennes, Erykah Badu models for a Givenchy campaign, and in an upcoming issue, Archie doesn't marry Betty & Veronica but Valerie! Valerie is the Black lead singer of Josie & The Pussycats and they have a BABY!!

Christmas got weird this week. FOX news is adamant (because they have no time or no lives) that Santa is white and can NOT be anything else ever. Oh and by the way...Jesus is White too. So they said. Peep the uncomfortable clip and listen to the show to hear what we think.

Later during the show, we had a spontaneous call-in with M.C. K~Swift, and world traveled educator and emcee about Cheif Keef's mixtape and hashtag #ImFinnaRaiseTheMurderRate. He penned an article about the reactions and reality of life as a teen in Chicago and why we can't fully blame Keef for the ills of society. Read the article HERE.

The fake sign language interpreter at the Nelson Mandela memorial reported seeing angels fly into the stadium and claims to have "violent" schizophrenic episodes. Intern Report Episode #148: Royals Air Out Wednesday

Today for Air Out Wednesday we talk with writer, Glennisha Morgan about Lorde's anti-consumerism anthem, "Royals" remix featuring Rick Ross. Is she attacking and/or appropriating Hip Hop? You be the judge. Check out her article here and peep the original music video below.

In "News You Can Use" we air out the attention seekers that are assigning meaning to the President Obama "selfies" and the First Lady's "reaction". Later we discuss the appropriateness of calling Mandela, "Madiba" the traditional term of endearment his family and tribes-people call him. Do we have a right to say it too?

Later, we learn about a heartfelt story about a woman that wanted to rent a family this holiday season because she didn't have one. Intern Report Episode #146: Rest In Power Mandela

TK phoned it in this time she's on the west coast doing a meet up with our left coast listeners. #AffirmationFriday the chatroom was live with positive vibes this morning rocking to a varied playlist with a lilttle old and new. Jay - Z in the news again following his 44th birthday he announces that he's doing a 22 day vegan diet challenge. In other Hiphop news Master Ace reveals he's been living with MS for over a decade and discusses how the diagnosis changed his life. TK dropped the word about her flight out to LA (They had to stop for gas in Las Vegas) and sings the praises of Thundercat who performed a concert last night until his fingers cramped. We end of the show with Nelson Mandel's 1994 Inauguration Speech. Today's show is dedicated to him. Rest in Power.

Intern Report Episode #143: Air em allllll the way out!

  It's a loaded pre- Thanksgiving air out Wednesday on TK in the AM! Before we get to that there's plenty of news you can use! Be careful if you're traveling with your pet that the airlines don't lose or kill your pet in transit. Debbie Rowe aka MJ's baby mother airs out Dr. Conrad Murray for his recent flagrant statements about The King of Pop. Last but not least, Atheists are exercising their right NOT to worship with some billboard advertising.

Sagittarian Min popped in via phone to give us the Professor Freak Nasty/ Scholar intel on the rising sign of the times: Sagittarius! Check his website for more daily inspiration and advice from the stars.

In Air out news, we had an anonymous listener air out presently popular rapper, 2 Chainz for being sloppy, cheap, and generally not tipping. We took more airouts from the chatroom about jobs, self-care, and the school that is trying to expel a 12 year old for having natural hair.

Later, TK took to the airwaves to discuss the 244 unlawful deportations and killings that Haitians in The Dominican Republic are going thru. Is your cheap vacation worth being bought on the backs of those who have no rights? TK asks the chatroom-mates and listeners.

Happy post- Thanksgiving!

We jump right in with some "news you can use" with 7 commodities that are running out in the world, can you live without wine and chocolate? Just in time for the holidays, Pizza Hut reinstates a store manager for refusing to open on Thanksgiving. In Florida, Marissa Alexander was released in time to spend the holidays with her family as she awaits a new trial for shooting warning shots at her abusive husband. Oh a student sets a teacher on fire...yup.

Later , Black Friday was debunked here on the show, we broke down fallacy of sales and prices and 4 rules employed by retailers and media to encourage a feeling of scarcity and mob mentality.

Omowale Adewale, champion vegan boxer and mixed martial arts fighter joins us to kick it about Thanksgiving and how he navigates being "the vegan guy" at the party and how high blood pressure affected his last fight.
