Internship
inquisitorstilinski
Salem entered the police station, binder held tightly against his chest and bag on his back. He looked around, not sure where to start. There were a few police officer bustling around, some people in suits looking very busy and Salem would hate to stop them just to ask if he could work with them. It would probably be difficult to get the internship at a police station anyhow.
He approached the desk where a receptionist sat, clicking away at her computer. Salem asked for a detective who wasn't currently busy to speak to. After giving her the reason, she seemed happy enough to escort him to an office near the back.
Salem stepped in and knocked on the door. "Um, excuse me. I hope I'm not interrupting anything but I go to college nearby and for my criminology class I need to have an internship. I wasn't sure if it was any way possible to work here a little bit to get my credits?" Salem prayed the detective would say yes.
So I had my interview for the internship. It was a group interview so there were four other people there and that took some of the pressure off. But my hopes were lowered a bit because they all seemed to have some sort of experience and a lot more qualified than me. I didn't even get a chance to show off my portfolio that I spent so much time on. The guy said he's going to bring on six people for this internship so... I don't think my chances are very high. But at least I went in there and saw what it was all about. I'll hear by Saturday if I get it so I'll just keep my fingers crossed until than.
I finally finished my portfolio for this interview tomorrow! I went through a whole glue stick. I think i destroyed a forest with all the paper I used. I got a little sidetracked for a bit but I found my way back. But because of that it took me four hours to finish it. I'm proud of the work I've done so Anthem better be equally as proud of my work or I will burn down their establishment. Well maybe not... We'll just see how things go tomorrow.
I emailed the local art museum in my city. I've been thinking of trying to obtain an internship or an apprenticeship of some sort involving art this summer. There's a curator internship at the art museum. Maybe I'll get lucky. I feel like I look to weird to get my hopes up for anything to formal like this though. Maybe I should work on growing my hair out and cover up my head tattoo just to be safe.
