the witch's house. [+ arutonerico]
Onyx hues looked at the note, then at the house, then back at the note. He scratched his head, weary. This couldn't possibly be the place she meant.
First, the fact that it was in the middle of the woods (also, the shocking fact that he was dumb enough to enter the woods to find it). Second, it was clearly abandoned; the paint that adorned it was long since gone, with only little chips and chunks left. The road to said house was also lost to the wilderness, with wild roses (he had a rather painful encounter with these; his hand still stings) and herbs and weeds of every kind leading up to it. It's as if nature's arms showed you the way.
He doesn't like this. Even though the note said it was from Ayano, they're so many red flags. The most probable one is that this an elaborate prank by Kano, but there's so many other ideas that prop into his head. And the more he thought about it, more ideas popped in his head. At one point, it was like a firecracker was going of in his head. He let out an annoyed groan. It felt as pleasant as it sounded.
He stood there for an awfully long time. The sun seemed to move rather quickly, or maybe he just wasn't perceiving how long he had been there. It was already noon, when he had arrived there a few hours before. He just stood, thinking up scenarios that got worse and worse.
Gah, stop it...! Just... knock.
Facing the door with a trembling hand, he paused. That fear was still running amok inside him, but it wasn't paralyzing. It was more of a sense of warning what stopped him. It was heavy, like the sky was slowly losing it's balance and starting to gain dependence on his shoulders. He let out a sigh and knocked on the door.
