I'm an intj. At school, taking GCSEs, i am constantly ridiculed by everyone. It seems that I can't be proud or even mention my grades workout someone pouncing on me, even my own parents have taken to insulting me over them. Last year I took English, maths, ict, music and philosophy & ethics a year early and came out with A*s in all. Is that bad? I'm the laziest person ever, i don't revise, do no homework, and then everyone else gets upset. Why? Why are they sad at my results? I just dont get it.
Before I start, let me just say that if your parents are giving you shit for doing well then there’s something seriously wrong with them. Regardless of their own personal hang ups (and it sounds like they have some), they should not be treating you like this. The analysis below is mainly for the other people in your life. While it may also apply to parents, I repeat- they should not be insulting your accomplishments. It’s a very self-centered, juvenile thing for them to do.
Without knowing you it’s difficult to say, but I can speculate. Most people have to work hard to get the things you seem to accomplish so effortlessly, and this may be a source of jealousy. It could also be that you’re coming off as braggy or arrogant, which is extremely likely for an INTJ. It’s usually not something we do intentionally, but it can certainly rub people the wrong way. I’m not saying that their reactions are justified, just that how we communicate (intentionally or not) makes a huge difference in how people respond to us. Think Hermoine in her first year. You can try talking about your accomplishments less, or talking about them in a different way.
As an aside, you may find college to be far more difficult. You might want to take the time to learn some decent study habits now. A lot of students who get by on their intellect alone find that they struggle in college.
