~#21: I Offer Gratitude to Kickstarter/The Afterglow~
Ahh friends!!!
I cannot express to you all how soul feeding it was to show you my Making, my Processing of the horrendous experience with the disappointment, the hegemonic Jü.
The generosity of the SUPPORT HUMANS at Kickstarter, who batted not an eye at the contrast of my garb against their workaday chambray and subtle raw denim, nay, who paused in their trajectory towards their cozy open plan nook to compliment my aesthetic and and ask engaging questions regarding my purpose in their space, and offer to lend a helping hand. It is this experience, more than any other or my laughable interactions with presenting bodies, that helps me to realize the incomparable value in the the open curiosity of the well-resourced and genuinely engaged.
I feel that here in this fertile environment, I have been given the first glimmer of my MAGNUM OPUS as it thrives.
Just as at my Joe’s Pub performance in September, it seemed that the audience of welcoming strangers were expecting a performance from the perpetually flaky People Movers. And yet, I feel that in this performance, I had the first whiff of what it must be like to be seen as I know that I am: leader of humanity, maker of new worlds within ourselves and across our personal barriers. I was not seen as Jü saw me: a simple and false washing-over of the history represented by my body.
I showed my film to a small sector of humanity, presented a movement offering, and lead them to my thwarted Great Work. And they sat in the seats and saw.
I recognize that I still owe you, dear void, a full and complete explanation of the Devastating Disappointment of my Jü collaboration, but I cling to this nonsensical feeling of calm and hope, and wait once more for you to deliver.
