How do you think the Shaman/Rock reincarnation/past life thing works?

A. Avatar: the Last Airbender style. When the previous incarnations of the shaman & the rock die the titles r passed to babies (at random or predetermined)
B. Similar to above but the titles can be passed down at any point in their life (Also at random or predetermined, the latter leading to a vague sense of destiny until it happens)
C. Kane and Feels in every timeline. Its always been them. It always will be them. Over and over.
D. Something else, PLEASE tell me in the tags or something I'm so curious
