“I have something for you, dickheads!” Remus yelled loudly as he entered the living room where both his partners were reading on the couch.
“It’s not something slimy, right?” Janus asked, not looking up.
“Or foul smelling. I’d rather not have to research how to get another stench out of our carpet,” Logan added, placing a bookmark between the pages of his book.
“No, sillies! It’s normal for my standards!” Remus grinned proudly before placing a completely white cardboard box on the coffee table in front of them. Logan and Janus exchanged a look before the latter motioned for the former to open it. He did so and found a jigsaw puzzle inside.
“Interesting,” Logan commented as he inspected one of the pieces. “How many pieces are there and what’s the motif?”
“2000 and that’s for you two to find out! It’s half of the fun, after all.”
“Without seeing what it’s supposed to look like, it’s going to take quite some time to put together. Especially since a lot of these pieces seem to have overwhelmingly shades of green,” Janus observes, having joined Logan in taking a closer look at the puzzle.
“So it’s gonna be entertaining for a while! That’s all the better, right? Get the bang for your buck!” Remus wiggled his eyebrows at them with his last statement, making Logan chuckle.
“Thank you for the gift, Meus. I look forward to completing it.”
“I look forward to completion all the time!” Remus giggled before skipping away, letting Janus and Logan get started on their project.

It takes them over a month. All of them had jobs that made taking time for their hobby a bit difficult, but that made the time they could spend on it all the better. Often, they would let a show play in the background, or listen to music, enjoying each other’s company in quiet. Other times, Remus would join them in the living room, working on his own projects or telling them outrageous stories.
It was a great time for everyone involved.
Janus estimated that they would only need about two more days to finish when Logan got oddly lost in thought during one of their puzzle sessions. Remus was out to do some sort of shopping, so they had put on classical music and conversed casually. Logan suddenly stopped responding however, and as Janus looked up, he found him spinning a piece between his thumb and index finger.
“Are you alright, love?” Janus asked, a bit concerned.
Logan hummed but took a moment to answer.
“I think I know what the motif is supposed to be.”
Janus raised an eyebrow. Over time it had become clear that the puzzle was of a park, with three people having a picknick, though they were kind of small and hard to make out.
“Oh?”
“Yes. Do you remember the day we first met Remus?”
“I believe so,” Janus said slowly, taking a moment to think it over. “We were on a date, and he came up to talk to us, right?”
“Indeed. To be precise, we were on a picknick because you believed, and I quote, ‘You need to touch more grass sometime, Logan.’”
Janus snorted.
“I cannot believe you still went out with me afterwards.”
“Well, while worded weirdly, I did see merit in your advice,” Logan chuckled. “But to return to my point, Remus approached us in the middle of it because he had taken a photo of us since he found the scenery so breathtaking in that moment. I gave him my number so he could get us that photo.”
“Oh, yes. He also wanted our permission to post it online despite us being barely visible in the picture.”
“Exactly!”
“I can see where you would draw the parallel to the jigsaw, but this is clearly a painted motif. Not to mention there are three people at the picknick.”
“Well, it would be stupid of me to commemorate our first meeting and not have me be in the picture!”
Both Logan and Janus flinched at Remus’ voice suddenly coming from behind them. He was standing at the back of the couch, grinning over to them. He must’ve returned home without either of them noticing.
“You painted this then?” Logan asked once he recovered.
“Bingo! I found the print of the picture while reorganizing my room and thought it would be nice to have something bigger to remember that day! So I figured I could just turn it into a painting! Then I got started and when I got to sketching you guys and the picknick, I kinda felt weird about not being there and then I remembered that it’s my art and I can do whatever I want! So I added myself to the picknick, scanned the thing when it was done and commissioned the puzzle for you to do! The painting is actually bigger than that, so we’ll have to see if we want to hang it up or not.”
Durning Remus’ long ramble, Logan and Janus exchanged some fond looks and Janus got up to pull Remus into a kiss as soon as he was done.
“Thank you, Muse. It’s a lovely gift.”
“Agreed. And I’m sure we can find the perfect spot for your painting as well.”
“Aww, thanks you two! Love you so much I wanna eat your livers!”
Told you I was gonna catch up! Though maybe I shouldn't have 'cause I'm super tired, I hope this story is legible 😂 Anyway, this is for day 2 of @intruloceitweek, hope you enjoy!
Summary: Logan and Janus come home from their trip to the grocery store to a little surprise.
Content Warnings: None
~~*~~
Logan enjoyed grocery shopping with Janus. They both kept an eye on the shopping list, had fruitful discussions about what items were needed and whether they would be making extra purchases. It was efficient and provided nice companionship.
Of course, Logan didn’t mind when Remus joined him or them on a trip either. He certainly had a way of making even that mundane activity exciting and different, but he also added way more to the cart than they needed, making them spend more than planned. But it also led to them finding some of their favorite foods, so Logan couldn’t complain too much.
That day, Remus had elected to let them go alone, however. He had that glint in his eyes when he said goodbye to them that told Logan he had some form of devious plan to set in motion. He hadn’t even bothered to ask questions about what it could possibly be; Remus wouldn’t answer them anyway. Instead, Logan and Janus discussed the possibilities on their way to the store.
As they got back home, Logan first sniffed the air as he stepped inside. Nothing out of the ordinary. He could also not hear anything unusual either. He toed off his shoes, still hyper aware of his surroundings, and started down the hallway to set the grocery bags in the kitchen, when he caught something in the corner of his eye that made him stop in his tracks.
Their hallway mirror hung unsuspectingly on the wall where it always was, but Logan’s reflection in it wasn’t as it usually was. In it, his face was warped comedically and appeared longer than it truly was.
“Janus? I would like to request a reality check.”
“Oh? In what way?”
“Please tell me if our mirror truly is morphing my reflection or if I am more tired than I thought I was.”
Curiosity piqued, Janus came over and stood next to Logan, his face stretching in the same way his partner’s did.
“You are seeing just fine. Remus!” he yelled through the house after turning his head away from Logan to avoid hurting his ears.
“Coming!” came the response from upstairs and moments later, loud steps announced Remus’ path towards them. Logan and Janus used the time to put down their bags in the kitchen finally.
“My dorks are back!” Remus laughed delightedly as he found them, giving each of them a big kiss. “Got everything we need?”
“Indeed, we did. Now Meus, would you kindly explain what you did to our hallway mirror?”
“Oh, you saw? Isn’t it so funny?”
“Hilarious,” Janus deadpanned, which of course made Remus giggle. “What did you do and why?”
“Well, remember that old amusement park that was totally run down and shitty they closed recently only a bit of a detour away from my work?” Both of his partners nodded. “I got curious, so I drove by last week just to check it out and they just so happened to tear down the funhouse. I asked them if they were gonna trash it all and they said yes, so I asked if I could have some of the mirrors then if they were trash anyway and they said sure. I measured out all our mirrors and am replacing them all right now. Isn’t that so fun?!”
“For a bit, sure, but it’s gonna get annoying quick.”
“It’s not gonna be forever, just for like a week and a half.”
“Why a week and a half specifically,” Logan asked, brows furrowed. Remus just grinned at him instead of answering. It only takes another moment before Janus seemed to figure out the answer.
“You want to mess with your brother.”
“Bingo! When he stays here next week, he’s gonna go crazy not having a single, functioning mirror in the entire house! Just imagine it! Hilarious! I wonder what kind of tantrum he’ll throw!”
“Yes, I’m sure that’s going to be quite the show, but I think we all need a mirror within the next week and a half, Muse,” Janus sighed.
“Oh, I’m leaving the one in our bathroom. Roman’s not gonna go in there unless he’s really, really desperate.”
“Wow, thanks for being sooo considerate.”
“You’re welcome!”
“At least he considered our needs and adjusted accordingly,” Logan hummed as he placed a hand on Janus shoulder to calm him down. “And I do now kind of want to see what’s going to happen.”
