“ You get lost, you get left. ”

“You say that like we’re not already lost,” she muttered, walking idly along. Why had she agreed to this, again? Why hadn’t she voiced that this seemed like a terrible idea, given she knew very well it was, indeed, a terrible idea? Walking right into one of Naraku’s traps was one of the stupidest things they could have done. And yet, she’d traipsed right into it alongside Sesshomaru, and now she felt like the idiot. And Sesshomaru had the audacity to tell her not to get lost, when—
Oh, she was annoyed. Even if it didn’t show in her face, she was. “We’ve walked by that same tree about six times. You realize your sense of smell is one of the easiest to trick, right?” She would know, after all; she was the mistress of illusions, given her little abode… which as of late, sat abandoned. Ah, well. It wasn’t like anyone was going to get through her little maze of horrors any time soon. The average demon would be sent packing, and anything stronger than that was liable to end up confused by the fact that the place was empty. The thought of that was amusing to her; if any demon thought they were powerful enough to have defeated her island of horrors, only to find the place empty and worth absolutely nothing…
“This place isn’t normal. And by not normal, I mean even my abilities are going haywire. There’s demonic auras, but I can’t pinpoint it. Yet I can still distinctly find yours. It doesn’t make sense. If the place was trying to dampen my ability to pick up on it, surely it’d have affected sensing yours, too.” Sesshomaru’s, thankfully, couldn’t overwhelm her like others; she’d grown used to it, and she could filter that sensation with relative ease. “But it’s not like Mount Hakurei, either. Bienfu’s pact isn’t stifled, and I can tell you’re not being overwhelmed by it, either.” Something felt very wrong about it, but she couldn’t quite put her finger on it.
“I can still faintly sense Jalen and Ah-Un, too… but further away, weakly. Which makes sense, given where we left them with Rin.” Goodness, wouldn’t this be a time for that fancy little sword to give them a clue? Either of them, really—Tenseiga or Tokujin.
