To the Mun: The best part of Inuyasha I think is the characters. Especially the main characters. They're all very good. The anime (never read the manga so I have no perspective) sometimes botches Kagome but even so, she's not horrid. Even the side characters are good. Not every single character but for the most part.

LoL.8D    Though I favor the manga over the anime myself, (I recognize you haven’t read the manga yet–if you ever do want to read it though, Here, the whole thing scanned in and translated into English. :) ) All of the characters in the IY series are my favorite characters. I can’t pick a single favorite. I love and hate them all equally. lol.       And they ARE the best part of the series. Without the characters the story wouldn’t hold~Without their complexities and faults and relatability no one would read/watch the series. No one would have kept up with it for as long as it went. The fanbase would have crumbled without them. The characters are basically the series. :3

The Magic Man

“Inuyasha.”

“....”

“Seriously, Inuyasha?”

“....”

“Let him wallow, Kagome. He’ll get over it eventually.”

“Lady Kagome, he just needs a couple of minutes to himself, I believe.”

Inuyasha was crouched, just a stone’s throw away from everyone else. He was staring off into the sunset, dazed and not paying attention to anyone. Kagome had been standing right next to him, but after Sango’s and Miroku’s comments, she returned to them. They began to set up for lunch, pulling out odds and ends out of Kagome’s bag. Miroku built a small fire to boil water, hoping ramen would snap Inuyasha out of what ever he was in.

Honestly, Miroku and Sango knew exactly what Inuyasha was so upset about. Kagome, though, not really. She was clearly exasperated by the man,

Suddenly, as Miroku was pouring the boiling water in the ramen, Inuyasha stood up. 

And abruptly stood right in front of Kagome, and pointed an accusational finger. 

“You aren’t allowed to go see him!”

Kagome’s jaw dropped. Sango snorted. Miroku remained silent, and hushed Shippo.

After a moment or two, Kagome finally said, “What are you talking about?”

“The magic guy!” 

“The magic guy,” she repeated.

“Yes! The magic guy without clothes!”

Sango snorted again.

“Were you listening to my conversation with Sango?”

“No....not all of it.”

“But you are referring to ‘Magic Mike’ aren’t you?”

Inuyasha remained eerily silent. Sango snorted again, and this time Shippo wasn’t hushed by Miroku.

“What is he talking about?”

Kagome answered. “A movie. Which apparently, I’m not allowed to see.” She smiled at Inuyasha, for no other reason than to appease him. “Okay, I won’t go see it.”

Inuyasha humphed his approval, and snagged the ramen from Miroku, who looked over at the women. 

But the women took no further notice of the men, and instead were sharing a knowing look. Suddenly Kagome’s entire body was shaking from holding in her laughter, and Sango finally looked at Miroku. 

The look gave him told him everything. Kagome had already seen this ‘magic man without clothes, and Inuyasha would know that if he had listened to the whole conversation.
