If there's one thing my witch, Iora, can be counted on to do in every setting, is apply the scientific method to magic to create unconventional weapons.

In one setting she specialized in portals, so obviously she created an empty tube without air (kinda hard, but once you know outer space is a vacuum you can open a portal to that inside the tube to eject the air) to see what would happen if an object placed inside kept being warped between two portals, achieving infinite downward motion. The answer is apparently nigh-infinite acceleration (no terminal velocity due to no air drag), which has the unfortunate implication of, if that object gets ejected into the atmosphere again, it would force the first atoms in its path to undergo nuclear fusion and create a big explosion. That experiment ended with a god (who has secret knowledge about physics much more advanced than mortals) to intervene and slap her on the wrist. The top of a mountain got blown off.

In this other setting she's an edgy, brooding veteran who lost an arm. A terrible (cool) thing about that setting is that due to a war, healers are basically impossible to find, so she went to Axis, a clockwork plane aligned to Law, and had a sick-ass FMA-style automail (but golden, because she uses those colors here) installed. And since she was at it, she did a little transhumanism (well, trans-elfism?) and implanted in there a number of tuning forks for easy planar travel, and a hole in her wrist to launch a single fireball at the speed of a cannon. Try to counterspell a missile coming at you at hundreds of kilometers per hour, fucking casual.

Anyway yeah, I love her. Also she may die next session. FUcK

Disclaimer: I won’t claim this to be a conclusive/definitive analysis of all of the ship’s aspects. Ship dynamics vary depending on which parts of the series/timeline or media types you are looking at. So this is going to be my personal take on it and just a personal interpretation of how I perceive them.

Whether canon provides input on them or not:

This one might actually turn out to be very similar to the Mimi/Iori analysis post, as Sora and Iori are both suffering from “lack of screentime syndrome”, each on their own as well as with each other. Under normal circumstances, they aren’t very likely to interact, so we will have to resort to going theoretical again - because they do have a few things in common, but probably wouldn’t even recognize this, if it wasn’t for parts of their friend groups allowing them to actually spend time together. Let’s take a look at this: 

Whether I think why and how they’d work:

Many people are very fond of the idea of making Iori the heir of the Crest of Love, as his character arc is tightly linked with embracing forgiveness and not seeing things too black and white. Being open and affectionate - things both Sora and Iori have to practive, that might actually allow them to have a heart-to-heart here and there. Not only are they both acting as some kind of “voice of reason” among their respective groups (as seen above in basically the only moment I could remember them talking to each other), but due to the fact that they’re both close with Miyako (and Koushirou), that might be their best opportunity to spend time together (and sigh over their friend groups being hard to take care of sometimes). I’d actually love the idea of the Sora/Koushirou/Miyako/Iori friend group to spend time outside of Digital World duties - even if that may make Sora feel a little bit left out sometimes, because while Iori is not as rambly as Koushirou and Miyako, being among this group of people may allow him to be his most outgoing self and theorizing with them might actually be something he highly enjoys. 

Another thing they might bond over is their sense of traditionalism - or rather, Sora would admire Iori for being so committed to kendo (and wanting to become a lawyer), not only due to her embracing tennis as means to get closer to her own mother, but also due to her still having to find a balance between what’s expected of her (flower arrangement) and what she wants (design). So them trying to find their way in life in a more calm, collected manner could actually turn this into a very sweet friendship. Especially because Sora is already having a very subtle friendship with Koushirou and Iori is quite similar to him in several ways.

(In a different context, Sora and Iori might spend time in theory due to their family set up - because Sora being with Yamato means spending time with Takeru, which also means spending time with Iori. Very theoretical, I know...)

Whether I’d prefer them as platonic or romantic ship:

Once again, as this is a very, VERY rare relationship to focus on with one of the biggest age differences in the series, I do like the theoretical idea of them being nice acquaintances on a very similar emotional wavelength. I think it’d be a little less of a sibling dynamic as I could see it between Mimi and Iori, but more based on them sharing a mutual understanding in terms of their values and nature.

Imantado hijo de Reborn, es una de las cosas más monas que he pensado, en parte porque tengo el headcanon que el guardabosques al soportar a los animales, también lo hace con los híbridos (Focus, fargan, dess, y los demas xd)
