To name all the things I love about Lorei? Nearly impossible, I’d say. There're too many qualities of yours I find amazing and even envy from time to time. Your kindness. The gift to make it so damn easy to feel at ease in your presence. Kindness. Brilliant sense of humor and the ability to use it at a right time. Iphii! Yes, yes, let's go on a hike and forage for mushrooms! I have a wonderful wicker basket for that, and slippery jacks grow nicely under pine trees, so we'll have a delicious treat afterwards AND will smell great >:)

About societal collapse, though... I'm not sure, but I wouldn't necessarily panic instantly? I mean, I'm stuck in preserves making loop right now, I've only just taken a break and I need to go back to it TvT (Well... It's not just preserves today, but whew, I hardly had any time to sit down. Shopping, kimchi [making this because I can't have our standard fermented cabbage], laundry, starching bedsheets, and now my father has picked the remaining cherries, so I'd better go help him stone them; But, yeah, those Slavic grandma HC? Those were foreshadowing, I'm really excited about starching the sheets...)

And no, no apeshit! I'm really embarrassed whenever I lose my temper or act petty. (Especially in situations when somebody is mistreating me... I could use my wits to humiliate them, but I'd only feel hideous about myself later.)

A compliment for myself as a writer: I am brave, as I don't shy away from trying new things, both technique-wise and topic-wise.

A compliment for my writing: It is. It just is, and continues on being.*

*- I think plenty aspects of it are not something that I can measure personally. Are the words I use simple, or advanced? Is it something that moves hearts? Are my descriptions flowery, are they atmospheric enough? Do my dialogues read naturally? I have no way of knowing with absolute certainty. I even suspect that some of those questions may not have definite answers, as results could vary depending on the person asked... So the greatest thing about my writing is that, despite all this uncertainty, it continues on being -- both as an action I enjoy and as something that is out there to potentially be enjoyed.

🎉 What leads you to consider a fic a success?

Once upon a time I'd say the response it got, the fact that it invoked some feelings in others, or something of the like.

Currently... I don't think I'm able to view it in categories of failure Vs success.

How to put it... Whether it got noticed or not, whether others liked it or not, whether the process was easy or not, whether I've learnt something new or not, it doesn't matter much. If I didn't think a story was worth being told, I wouldn't bother with telling it. My energy is too limited to waste it on chaining myself down with useless measures and pointless expectations.

Recently I've just been content with how things are, especially as they happen.

Crystal clear water. Whether it’s a fantasy world or daily routine, a sad ballad or a horror fairytale, your stories carry the universal truth that exists in every place, time and space. 

Water can take any form. Sometimes it’s a warm babbling brook, and sometimes it’s a beautiful snowflake dancing in the air. Sometimes you create a sweet love story, and sometimes you throw a crazy mix of folklore, epic and tragedy in our faces. 

Water is a true force of nature. It can be wild, but it will never lie to you. And it really amazes me how you manage to stay true and loyal to yourself, your followers in every work you write, how you’re not afraid to experiment with the form, style, words, music (!) of the text. I still can't forget that fic of yours (it was about Masamune, please, tell me I’m not wrong), where you paid attention to the smallest details including paragraph spacing in order to follow the stylistic choice and narrative tempo.  

And also I’m a big fan of your match-ups. I’ve never seen such a clever combination of psychology, humor and math 💛

At first, I didn't want to let this out of my inbox. I considered keeping it there forever.

Honestly, I do not know how to reply to this. Do I even deserve such praise? I feel the need to shout at you that you're too sweet.

As for the story in question... The one that came to my mind is The song about Princess and The Fox, but that's with Mitsuhide, hmm... So I'm genuinely curious whether that's the one you're referencing, haha. Either way, I'm surprised and so, so, so flattered that something I've made left such a lasting impact. It's... beyond dreams.
