Apple's 3D Touch Launch Has A Long Way To Go Successful
Apple's 3D touch has made an attempt to solve the shallow user interface. Though the attempt is an appreciable one, it has its constraints and needs a lot of evolvement in the near future, to solve the purpose.
The iPhone has without a doubt picked up significance for all groups of individuals as an application phone as opposed to a smart phone. The home screen of iPhone is only an entryway to applications. One may discover a million of applications on the iPhone app store that assists with one's work, hobbies, responsibilities, fun and that's just the beginning. The apps are available for iPhone 6S, iPhone 6 plus, iPod touch, and iPad, and, many of the best are free. Further, new applications are added by the eminent iPhone developers, India or elsewhere across the globe.
Moving forward, the main feature of the new iPhone 6s and 6s plus is 3D touch, a pressure sensitive way to interact with the phone. It is an Apple's attempt to enhance the user interface on i OS. By pressing the screen for a longer moment, one may interact contextually with it. This touchscreen functionality permits one to access an app's quick action shortcut, right from the home screen. It provides a new way to interact and get a glimpse of an e-mail, links or the message without navigating away from the app. The iPhone app development services have taken all the measures to confirm that the new iPhones have native apps equipped with 3D touch.
The 3D touch comprises of three types of interaction namely peek, pop and quick actions. As it is still in its initial stages of development, it has its own constraints that are yet to be solved. For instance, in the case of links, more guidance is needed on when 3D touch is available. Similarly, on the home screen, there is no indication for the apps in which quick actions are available. It has made the users to have a trial on all the apps to find out the quick action ones, and even the available ones have not made up to the expectation leading to users' frustration.
Further, it offers shortcuts for three people to message and phone, but for the same people. The user does not have the option to have quick actions to be set for different people as he prefers. And the quick actions in the mail has not been found pretty useful. As of now, the options 3D touch offers aren’t always useful and has created an impression that all seems like a gimmick. It is only at its baby steps and has a long way to go to become really beneficial.
