Twenty Ten... That's Two Hundred, Right?
Just like any other year-end assessment... "It feels like yesterday but hey, there's a lot to say!". Aside from the usual holidays, there are 2010 peaks I--or even you--just can't forget. It's like, WOW-IT-ALL-HAPPENED-IN-2010.
Celebration. The first thing that surprised me in 2010 is the first time that first person came. Then everybody's just happy for me that they stopped wishing for someone to come my way and they just started praying for and blessing us.
Revolution. Remember the time when everyone's asking, "What's happening there in Bulacan?"? Who's your governor now? Then Bulakenyos would answer what was reported on TV. But I... and the people I was with would tell what we just saw. Yes, I was there...at the mini-revolution, as I call it.
Election. First time to vote on Philippines' first automated elections. But more than that, I remember the rush of campaign materials I had to finish. PCOS AVP, Political Ads... and of course, the thrill of election day surveillance. Roamed over 2 districts, been confronted by a vice-mayoral candidate in a far district... Plus bomb threat.
Termination. The heck of it. A month of being a good bum.
Application. Your first step after termination. Of course!
Transition. Dealing with politics. Adjusting to the rules. Coping with the ones who can hardly cope up.
Orientation. Being happy for some nice changes... and being accustomed to sucking changes.
Decoration. Adding tranquilating thoughts. Buying stuffs you think are necessary and saving for the things you think will be necessary. Then getting a bonus and winning a raffle. That makes everything look good.
Relaxation. It's actually the tension of paying for the enjoyment of reuniting... with friends or relatives... Those that lead you to do what you've been doing before... when you we're still not part of the income-generating population.
Evaluation. It's summing up. Accepting that you've been changed by another year and you'll be, by another year to come. But there's nothing to worry about. Let them say, "You've changed."... Because we change by situation. So worry if nothing ever changes. Evaluation. It ends by saying... "It's been a year."
