Magic Stage 1.1.0

Magic Stage is now a universal app and so purchasing once will allow the app to run on the iPhone, iPod touch and iPad (1 and 2).  That's not all though.  Many tricks purchased from within the app are transferable across all devices. Here's how it works: - Any tricks with a + symbol at the end of their name are available on all devices. - Once purchased on one device the trick can be unlocked for free on any other device on which Magic Stage is installed. - To unlock previously purchased tricks on a different device simply tap 'Restore Purchases' within the the second device. On an iPhone or iPod touch the 'Restore Purchases' button can be found by tapping 'Backstage'.  On an iPad the 'Restore Purchases' button can be found by tapping the small 'i' in the lower corner of the app. This has been a pretty big update and it adds so much value to the app.  Hope you enjoy. Introducing Magic Stage

It's been a while! Over the last six months I've been super busy developing and here's the result - Magic Stage.  Magic Stage contains three amazing magic tricks plus access to a trick store where you can buy additional tricks.  Some background. Last year I pretty much mapped out the future of Alakazapps - a single app strategy.  After releasing over a dozen individual magic apps and a couple of magic box compilations I realised something had to change.   Here's why: 1) Maintaining so many apps (plus the many other trick ideas I have) was proving difficult for one person.   2) Even with the folders in iOS 4, user could potentially have a headache dealing with multiple apps. 3) Having individual apps creates unnecessary overheads. Code that's only needed once ends up being on your device multiple times. There are also huge benefits to the single app strategy:  1) Discovering new tricks is very easy. The trick store includes performance demos of all the tricks. 2) There are certain ideas that I have that might not get approved as individual apps due to their seeming simplicity. Small or big, all my very best ideas now have a home. 3) Performing the tricks is now streamlined. Launch Magic Stage and a whole collection of tricks is only one touch away. So there you have it. Magic Stage is on sale now and I have loads of cool magic tricks to add in the coming months.  Get your copy today from the App Store. Here's a quick FAQ for regular Alakazapps customers.  Will you continue to support individual magic apps? For as long as the apps are on sale I will be supporting them. I will eventually streamline my catalog. All purchased apps will of course continue to work even if they're removed from sale. Do I need to repurchase apps I already own? Unfortunately there is no way to transfer purchases. Keep in mind, for the price of a normal individual app you get a new trick (Photo Escape) plus Magic Match and Magic Compass. It's a pretty good deal.  Where are the support documents for individual apps? Visit the support forum at Alakazapps.com and choose the individual apps section. Will you be releasing any other individual apps? No. Magic Stage will be the home of all future Alakazapps magic tricks. Many thanks for all your support. Fry Mentions Magic

National treasure Stephen Fry recently wrote a fantastic review of the new iPhone 3GS. Along with detailing the technological advancements he devoted a paragraph to the variety of treats offered by the App Store, he wrote: "Apple has shown that a mobile phone can be a pedometer, a restaurant guide (one which can make the reservation, direct you there and let you know which kinds of sustainable seafood you can order with a clear conscience), an ensemble of musical instruments that can be blown down, tapped and strummed, a library, a periodic table, a performer of magic tricks, a translator, a Skype phone, a Twitter client, a radio, a games platform and a device that can set your home satellite TV to record any programme you like wherever you are in the world." Magic tricks are on his list next to musical instruments and games platform, that's a pretty impressive distinction. I don't for a second think Stephen Fry had time to use one of my apps, if he even knows Alakazapps exists. Still the recognition of the genre is great for all those who develope and perform magic tricks on the iPhone and iPod touch.
