I've been given 2 pairs of rad socks this year from rad crew who 'get it' and get me. When I started posting my vegan lifestyle experiences online back in 2003 I was simply looking for community but soon i realised I was helping to create one. Fast forward 13 years on and over 300million YouTube views later it still feels like an epic dream come true when I see so many people going vegan, riding bikes, getting insane health & fitness results and paying it forward by creating YouTube channels/ free events and meet ups etc of their own. the feeling of being punched in the gut is how I would describe my receiving the news of cyclist mike halls passing. Not because I knew mike personally, but because as a cyclist I realize how many times that could have been me. 

my deepest condolences go out to mike’s family and personal friends. 

Mike may you rest in peace, thank you for all that you have done for the cycling community

1st place overall goes to Sarah 'Connor' Hammond @flexgoogly who 'terminatored' thru the pack again for @racetotherock 2017. Last year Sarah was the only one to finish and this year the course was so hard only 7 nutters turned up. Just goes to show that the longer the solo event the more chance a women will dominate it. I think a lot of guys didnt enter this year because they didn't want to get flogged by Sarah in front of all the dot watchers. I even heard rumours of some world cup level XC riders discussing the idea but the reality of getting 'Terminated' out on the 5th day middle nowhere wasnt a chapter in the 'AIS sports psychology for athletes' guidebook. #welldone #epic #terminator #raisedbyemus #racetotherock #ipwr #gotitfuckingdone

Watch this doco if you want proof the mind gives up before the body does. I literally didn't know this #IPWR doco was out since April! Found out about it yesterday when out on a ride and watched it last night and it was so inspiring as it showed so many of the riders from all abilities and you really got to feel what it took to be out there. The drone shots were out of this world and it was put together by a true professional Aussie producer named Anthony Gordon. I've watched ALL the bikepacking/ultra docos in the last decade and this one got me hyped up the most. It also showed how women are level with the men in true endurance testing comps likes this with @flexgoogly only hours away from first place at any given time. 🚴‍♀️Long is better than speed, long is harder than fear. Tragic news this morning. I can't believe it. Mike Hall was killed by a motorist. To all the riders still out there on #ipwr keep going. Ride for Mike. Don't stop. Stay seen and stay safe. RIP Mike. (at City of Burnside)
