A Christmas Gift- Backdated to Christmas Day 1978

Matt once again stood nervously on Irene’s doorstep. What if she hated the gift?  What if he was a git for listening to Marlene’s advice on buying women gifts?  He smiled at she opened the door for him.  “Happy Christmas, love.”  He kissed her as he came into her apartment a hand snaking to the side of her neck so that his thumb rested gently on her jawline.
