everyone always talks about tony’s development (which is fucking fantastic mind you) but steve’s development is just as important.

you see this guy who wanted to be a soldier all his life, become a soldier, follow the rules, only to see various organizations be corrupted and destroyed from the inside out. steve’s entire rationale on organizations calling the shots changes because he sees it change. it’s so gradual. he tries so hard at first to fit in and be a military man, then a puppet, then captain america, then shield, and finally when he finds a home in the avengers -- he doesn’t want anything to taint it.

i get that rational so much. and coming from steve, it makes so much sense why he does what he does.

i just am so blessed to have chris play and own this role the way he does? and his acting has evolved so much???

and i think chris and rdj is the reason why we saw a semblance of friendship between cap and tony. it’s their acting that made you think, ok, maybe they don’t hate each other.

had those roles been played by anyone else besides those two, i can guarantee you we would’ve had joss whedon’s alpha masculinity bullshit spewed and spat all over them.
