Telegraph Ave at 59th St in Oakland, Ca.
A collaborative mural was painted last August off . It is almost impossible to get a decent shot of the entire mural due to the tree. Sidemuestro painted a mural next to this. The boom box cat by Pescadore. The perched bird by Irot Check out their pages then head over that way. Two of them are painting a mural close by off Lowell. Irot
15th St @ Webster in Downtown Oakland, Ca.
First time we came across Irot was in 2011 with a goofy character sporting one bulging eye and a toothy grin. That followed with a lot of his signature birds. Then came the writing and the murals. While he has been consistent with the two characters he mixes up what he does on the street leaving us wondering what he will do next.
Irot is originally from So Central New Mexico. He grew up on an Apache Reservation and was inculcated with the culture of his ancestors. This is sometimes reflected in his art that occasionally depicts indians like the large red one on Webster street of the indian wearing a war bonnet and the cigaret box sticker with an indian smoking a ceremonial pipe. He is a member of the Che Crew, Check out his page https://www.streetartsf.com/tag/irot/
