oh god no.
i think in my head the scenario went that i’d tell her about this paper i was working on and she’d be so impressed and want to read it and be blown away by my literary prowess. what actually happened is i told her and she kind of smirked and said something like ‘good topic choice’ and that was the end of that. but considering how absolutely starved i was for any sort of acceptance or praise from anyone, that level of response from a cool older girl was enough to make my smol gay heart soar. so...definitely worth it.
#19j#replies#mp#i don't have much nice to say about the school system i went through as a kid#or about the other kids in it#or their familes#or my town#or the household i grew up in#i have some great batshit crazy stories about it all#like god i could write a great post about my high school english teachers all of whom were just...nuts#but the thing is most of my memories of pre-college school are pretty awful#but looking back and finding these things that were just like...the gayest things ever that i did#is kind of nice though#like yeah wow everything really sucked for a ton of reasons#and i was in hardcore denial and terrified about being gay#but without realizing it i was out there being my best bi self#and racking up these quality smol bi disaster moments#like it doesn't make the rampant homophobia any better#but it's like finding a nice memory i didn't know i had#like wow teenaged me was a nerd ass loser#who thought writing a research paper about pot was a great way to impress the ladies#that is a quality childhood memory in itself
