Another book from #unreadshelfproject2018 The Cutthroat by Clive Cussler and Justin Scott - part of the Isaac Bell series. “Detective Isaac Bell is asked to find young Anna Pape, who ran off to New York. Before he can track her down, her mutilated body is found. Bell makes it his mission to find her killer. He discovers many missing and dead girls of a similar type, some killed the same way as the Ripper murders in White Chapel. Bell finds a connection to a touring company of Jekyll and Hyde. Can he ferret out the killer in time?” Listened to the audiobook version. Performance is just okay. The narrator for Cussler can drone a bit. Story feels formulaic. If you like period crime fiction (this is set in early 1900s) you might enjoy this one. Or if you like Jack the Ripper fiction.
