Nasir "Nas" Jones' documentary "Time is illuminatic" is a part of history more people need to learn about. In terms of both music and New York. Such as "DJ Hot Day", how the sense of community came together to bring music out to the streets. Later down the line the epidemic of crack and how so many people were lost. How Nas wanted to give the affect of what was going on in his world during this time in New York. The main take away that i was left with was how dedicated Nas was for his city and the community that lied within it. Bringing people together through music and the current events that were going on during that time to bring recognition.
