If there was one good thing about Gemma’s time spent in Port Vale so far, it was the connections she had built and strengthened. Out in the Coral Sea, it often felt like she was pretty far removed from what was going on in the rest of Assyria. It was ironic that it was only now that she wasn’t in Assyria at all that she felt more closely connected to everything that was going on, but she would take it. Beyond the expected alliances with her fellow siren captains, there had been a few surprises as far as who she’d managed to get close with - Isidore being one of them. It was politically advantageous for her to have a hippocampus on her side, sure, but it was more than that. She would go so far as to say that they were friends.
Even so, it had been a little while now since she’d last had the chance to stop by and say hello - and even longer since she’d actually had a conversation with him one on one. Today seemed like a good day for it, and so she made her way on over to his shop a little ahead of closing time. Through the window, she saw that it was just him in there - perfect.
“Hey, Isidore,” Gemma greeted as she headed in. “Is now a good time? I was thinking I could help you close up.” She didn’t always come here to talk about Assyria - but with all that had been learned about the seafoam curse recently, she was very interested in getting Isidore’s take. She knew he preferred not to talk about Assyria though, and so she always offered any help she could think to give when there was something she felt needed to be discussed.
