More characters, more introductions .... meet Issa! Issanaih! This one here is quite special <:)..... I will use this chance to also talk at lenghts about my own, personal headcanons surrounding the elusive Illusioners as well.... more under the read more!
Illusioners were an Illager class that was common when the empire was first being established - with unrest and no common codes and rules set yet, they were soldiers meant to protect the newly built mansions, alert if anyone was incoming and use their combined magic and practical abilities to serve as many purposes as were needed. Alongside this, they were trained as spies and assassins to infiltrate into other mansions.
Over time they went out of fashion, as the tribes came together and the Empire was formed.
Many of them were used to a nocturcal circadiam rythm, as they were stationed at night to keep watch while foot soldiers recuperated to continue defending and expanding territory during the day. That's how they can perfectly see through their blindness potions, were you to throw one at them.
Their coats blue pigment is taken straight from lapis lazuli, to help maintain multiple illusions at once as well as enhancing their own magical abilities.
They were usually very silent and reserved types, even less no-nonsense than Vindicators. Trained separately from other footsoldiers, they were sort of viewed as outliers who didn't hold the same sense of community the other illgers had. This made them very tight knit as a class, which would spark some less favorable opinions of the rest. Sometimes they held the opinion that, wielding both magics and physical prowess, they were above their appointed leaders.
While a minor point, it definitely contributed in their absolvement.
While technically not an existing class anymore, some rare old mansions who worry about protection and have stuck to traditions more closely still train specific illagers to fill this role, though it is rare and mostly unheard of.
