M..
Yes it started with an M. What was the next letter?
M-O
No, it wasn’t my mother. No..I’m a toy silly! We don’t have mothers! The prototype saved us! He’s our god..brought us life!
M-E-R
No, no- that’s not his name!
M-A
What was his name? I..I KNOW I heard that name somewhere..
Mark?
No.
Matthew?
No!
Martin?
No. No! NO!!
I..it was someone I knew. Someone that really cared about me. If he did care, why wasn’t here? With me? Maybe he left me. He did.
If I don’t know what his name was, he probably wasn’t important! Maybe another toy? Yeah, that’s what he was! I was worrying about nothing!
Lily walked through the empty streets of her neighborhood. She hummed a soft tune, having a toy wagon with her to collect anything to help her “make” new friends. She already had collected quite a bit. But she still wasn’t quite satisfied yet.
Her sleep deprived eyes immediately spotted a bucket, aha! This was exactly what she needed. She squealed and ran up to it, one of her braids picking it up.
“This is exactly what you were missing!” One of her braids pulled out a small cat. Her..”best friend”
“Yes, Candy!! Now he will be complete! Come along, wonderful!”
She held the bucket close and hugged it.
Lily stood before her “friend”, a large wooden doll, wearing a stitched up dress shirt with a necktie that was made from some fur of toys she found laying around. Along with a pair of dress pants down his legs. The creator of this..thing, giggled and took a piece of paper before drawing a face. A happy face. After all, everyone should be happy to see her! She was a nice person..she really was! She’ll take care of this toy. He’ll be hers. Her.. special friend.
She taped the face to the bucket, before nuzzling it. Feeling the urge to do so. For once..she felt a little less alone. Lily puts the bucket- erm, head where it belonged.
“Hello there, Wonderful!”
She jumped in joy! She felt less..alone! She had someone her size for once! Maybe an little bigger? Ah, size doesn’t matter! “Now you’re..you’re..” she rubbed her head. Something about “him” felt familiar..
“You’re..here-“ Lily brushed it off immediately. She laughed “Of course you’re here! You were always here! Right where you belong..” she held the wooden dolls hands and puts it against her to chest, her plastic fingers gripping onto the dolls hands as tightly as possible. Not wanting to let go. “w..with me..”
Lily shoved the figure as hard as she could, she felt, anger, for some reason. She flinched, immediate remorse prevailed her. “o-oh! Um, pardon me!”
Lily ran up to the figure and picked him up. “Y-you- um-“ she rubbed her plastic cheek.
“How about I show you around? This is going to be your new home you know?” Her braid brought candy close to the mannequins head “Isn’t Lily the most thoughtful toy ever?"
Another braid made the manquinn nod, agreeing with her. "Oh! I knew you thought so! Come on, I'll show you around!"
She hummed and dragged it along, showing her new guest the ins and outs of the large purple dream house. More like a nightmare, but Lily didn't see it as a nightmare anymore. Lily clapped her hands excitedly and she sat the manquinn at the table.
"Well your arrival calls for a celebration! I usually make crumpets, how about we do something special? Like pie?" Lily knew how to crush crumpets together and fill the tin with meat she found. Lily happily strode over to a closet, two of her braids reached out and pulled out a box. She gasp as something slide out, bopping her on the head. Nothing heavy, but light.
Lily gasped and looked down, huh..that’s new.
It was a VHS tape? Oh, she had a tv in a spare room! It’s been awhile since she seen a Miss Grace video. She was so nice. So loving. She was her friend.
She read the name on the tape.
“Amanda..the adventurer? Let’s make a pie?” Pie..she knows how make one of those! Especially peach. She went to a spare room in the back of the house. A gray room with padding. Inside was a small square tv with a video player feature. She inserted it.
A nice jingle play, Lily happily bopped her head along with the jingle.
"Amanda The Adventurer"
She then saw two characters. A little girl with an orange shirt and colorful shoes. She seemed to like purple. Good to know. And on the right was a sheep, one that stood on two feet. It reminded her of another toy. Oh, she knows! Baba! She was Miss Grace’s helper. She wonders where she is right now. Maybe this sheep was assumably this Amanda’s helper?
“Hi I’m Amanda!”
“And I’m Wooly!”
This “Wooly” character looks up at screen. Both his and Lilys eyes met.
There was a pause, a strange sense of similarity seemed to arise in both. And they were in a trance.
Amanda blinked and looked at Wooly, then at Lily.
“Today we’re going to make an apple pie!”
Again, there was a pause. Amanda cleared her throat.
Wooly sweats “U-Um! My favorite is..”
“Peach pie?” Lily tilted her head. It was a guess. She had a feeling his favorite was peach pie.
Wooly blinked “Peach Pie!”
"Whats your favorite kind of pie?" Amanda smiled and looked at the screen.
Lily was taken aback. Its been..a long time since someone asked her for her opinion. Kind of overwhelming now that thought about it. She didn't..really know what her favorite was. All she can think is peach.
"U..um, Peach?" Lily gripped on her hair, she was kind of scared. What if she hurt Amandas feelings by saying peach instead of Apple? She was making a bad impression!
"Hmm! That sounds delicious!" Amanda exclaimed, Wooly nodding his head. He was happy they seemed to have something in common.
Amanda looks at apples. "We need to cut these apples for our pie. Do you know what we can use to cut the apples?"
Lily began to think. She didn't really know it herself. She felt shame. She..really didnt want to make a bad impression!-
Wooly looked at her confused look. He didn't want their adventurer to be over so soon..its been awhile since anyone watched their tapes! 'Think, Wooly, Think! She's probably going to take the tape out. And then Amanda and me can't continue like how things used to be. Do I have to spell it out for her? Like, literally? My sign language isn't that good, but I remember the alphabet when she taught me."
Lily looked at Woolys hand, he had the letter 'K' signed out with his hand. She knew sign language? Oh, of course. She remembered Miss Grace used sign language in her show. He must've really be Miss Graces friend to know that!
Wooly began to spell out a word.
K-N-I-F-E
"Knife?" Lily looked at the screen. "Good job! We can use a sharp knife!" Wooly flinched, "Uhhh, I don't think we're supposed to do that by ourselves." Amanda shrugs him off, "It's always good to be brave when you're by yourself!" It cuts to Amanda and Wooly standing by the counter, with butter and flour. "Wow! That was hard! Hmm. This is missing something, how about some sugar? Do you know where the sugar is? Is it in the pantry, fridge, or the sink?"
Wooly pointed to all three places, but his finger pointed at the pantry.
Lily pointed at the pantry.
"Great! Let's make a pie!"
Soon a prepared pie is on the counter. "Mmm, can you smell the apples and cinnamon?" Lily's stomach growled. Its been awhile since she had anything like that to eat. Or, atleast she thought so. Maybe she never had anything like that. No, she never had anything like that. What even is cinnamon? Is it like sugar?
"Okay, it's time to bake a pie! First, preheat the oven to 425-" Wooly cut her off, looking concern.
"I-I don't think we should be using the oven by ourselves! We should always ask a parent to help! Or..have an trusted adult with you."
"I'm not sure where they are right now. Or where an adult is." Amanda looked sad before immediately going back to her cheerful persona. "We're on our own, Wooly!"
"First, preheat the oven to 425 degrees. Put the apples into the pie tin. And then put it in the oven and bake it for 40 minutes." Amanda explained as illustrations are shown.
Ding!
"Our pie is ready! I can't wait to eat it! Wooly, let's have some pie!" Both Amanda and Wooly wave at the screen. Lily looks at Amanda, who was happy. But, Wooly for some reason- now, Wooly was smiling, yes. His eyebrows were furrowed, and his eyes were sad.
The tape ended. Lily was confused. She checked the vhs input and the tape was gone. "Amanda? Wooly?" She looked around. She smelled something. Apples and cinnamon.
Lily walked over to her kitchen. On the counter was a prepared apple pie and a piece of paper.
Did they leave this for me?
Lily picked up the paper. It was a drawing of the oven with 425. She walked over to the basement and put the pie in the furnace.
It immediately popped open and the pie was cooked, along with another vhs tape.
Lily blinked, before smiling. Did this mean they were friends? She sure hoped so.
She really did hope so.
…
Amanda was looking around the kitchen as Wooly faced the wall, his head looking down as he was in deep thought.
"Wooly? Have you seen the pie?" Wooly remained quiet.
Amanda was surprised. Out of all the times she wanted Wooly to shut up, why was he being quiet now?
"Wooly!" Wooly flinched, taken out of his train of thought "have you seen our pie?"
Wooly shook her head. Amanda folded her arms. "You ate it, didn't you?" Wooly shook his head. "N-No Amanda..I- gave it away to our friend." Amanda sighs "well, I guess thats fine. She seemed nice. Let's just make another pie."
Amanda pulled out the knife. She really like the girl. Wooly looked Amanda, making sure she didn't cut herself. But she can tell his mind was somewhere else. For some reason, she sensed that girl and Wooly- had something. Or knew each other. He never mentioned any purple haired- eh, Wooly was always strange. Always focused on what was in front of them. Never about before.
Amanda soon shrugged it off and began to cut the apples.
...
To be continued.
Hey guys! Had fun writing it. Hope to write part two, soon. Idk what call this AU, lol.
By the way, Wooly is still a manipulative dochebag. But his manipulative behavior will cool down especially since hes busy trying to find out why he feels this way with Lily.
I honestly don't think hes capable of being redeemed. Kind of defeats the point of his character in the original games. I just feel like this will add a soft spot to him. I still hate him but find this pairing fun to write
See you on the flipside
