Rules: Answer the questions and tag people! Feel free to use photos, gifs, whatever!
The Questions:
1. Choose three books from your shelves. Which do you drool on, which do you throw into a tornado, and which do you rip to shreds? 1. I drool on my really old edition of The Three Musketeers by Alexandre Dumas because it’s so pretty! 2. I would throw The House of the Seven Gables by Nathaniel Hawthorne into a tornado. I do not like that book. Strong feelings about that one. 3. I could probably rip my super old and broken down copy of The Amityville Horror to shreds. It’s almost there, anyway. But then I’d buy a new one.
2. Be vewy, vewy quiet! What book(s) are you always hunting, but can never find?
Ugh, Doctor Faustus by Marlowe. I’ve had to read it online for a class, but I never seem to be able to find a hard copy when I go to the bookstore.
3. What are three of the strangest books you’ve read in the last year? What made them strange? 1. A book of poetry by Jim Morrison. Guy was a weird cat, but I like him. Pretty sure he was dropping acid the whole time. 2. The Metamorphosis by Fraz Kafka. It’s Kafka, so it was pretty Kafkaesque. 3. Revival by Stephen King. I feel like if you don’t know why a Stephen King book would be a bit strange then you’ve been deprived of something beautiful and you need to go buy some of his books.
4. I tawt I taw a puddy tat! Describe one thing on your shelves that’s not a book. I have a little dish from Poland full of the bookmarks I collect from everywhere I travel to.
5. What’s the last book you “suffered” through, and why? (the characters? needed to know what happened? etc.) Definitely The Prince by Machiavelli. Had to read it for class and, like, oh my god. I get it. You’re obsessed with Cesare Borgia and you are kind of an ass, but at least you know it. But at least your name is fun to say.
6. Eeeeeh, what’s up Doc? Tell us about the last book that caught you off guard/surprised you. Probably The Women’s Room by Marilyn French. Read it while I was writing a paper for one of my classes and I did not realize I’d connect with it so much.
7. Given the chance, which book characters would you gladly toss off a cliff? Still effing pissed at Mr. Ramsay. Still want him off my boat. Immediately.
8. You’re dethpicable! What book/series tops your life-ruiners list? Jane Eyre has forever given me unrealistic expectations. I am ruined because of that one.
9. Covers vs. Blurbs: which attracts you more to a book? I love pretty covers. Pretty cover!
10. Say your prayers, varmint! If you could, what ONE book genre/book trope would you get rid of? I don’t know if I would. I might hate some things, but other people love the things and I love the people and I do not want to take the things away. They need the things.
