I smell woodsmoke. I JUST got windows in, if my house burns down tonight then I swear to fucking god
if emmerdale was a good show it would turn out that robert was unwittingly somehow starting the fires himself in the midst of a mental breakdown
Just when you think Trump can't go any lower he goes and hits the Earth's fucking core.
Can we talk about the religious imagery around Robby in this scene?
This halo is usually seen around religious figures in various art works. It is usually used to signify that you're looking at a saint, someone divine. Because when i look at this image, i keep thinking it's supposed to be some kind of rebirth. To me it signifies hope especially cause he is also telling baby Jane Doe here "I have a good feeling that you're gonna be just fine". It feels like I'm looking at someone regaining hope.
However, even though I definitely believe that this should be the start of some kind of healing journey, the showrunner stomps that believe out. In an interview with deadline he says the season 3 will be rock bottom. Which to me, makes this scene pointless because in that case, why are you so set on the saint-like and redemptive imaginary? It feels cheap. As if they saw the halo in the room and thought "wouldn't it be so cool if we filmed that?" and the thought process ended there. Which is sadly on brand for season 2.
I could start making an argument that this could also be talking about the 'halo effect' (a psychological effect that makes you believe that because a person is good at A they must also be great at B). But to be honest, i don't think they meant it like that, if they even thought of it at all.
I don't wanna give them credit they don't deserve. Which is sad because i really like this scene, it's just being ruined by steeped in misleading intentions

Miku..?!
I figured I'd give y'all a break from Mikolai posting, even though I have more of him! So here is Miku, which is surprising even to me because I don't go here in the slightest.
I'm going to be so honest with y'all, I don't get the Miku hype, even a little bit. I really don't understand why so many people love her so much and why she's so popular, and it always makes me feel like I've missed something? I do get that Vocaloid as a concept is cool, but I genuinely just am perpetually confused by what gets popular and why. But then I've never been good at understanding pop culture things. Which might beg the question as to why I drew her, which is fair! Rare though it is, I do occasionally concede and draw something popular, even when it's not my thing. It doesn't happen much, but she's been on my to-draw list for a long time, so I caved to that and gave her a shot. Don't get used to it though, I'm stubborn in my commitment to make art about things that I like, even when they are unpopular.
