Yes or No
Narinder is back once again after a few days, insistently. But this time, he's not looking for Imora, instead, looking for his daughter, Asha.
He knocks on the outside door first, praying luck for himself.
☨ The One Who Waits ( @ask-theredcrown )
[Asha cautiously opens the door and looks out. Only to find Narinder, her father, standing there.]
[She's hesitant for a moment.. before she pulls the door open fully and stands in front of him.]
"Hey, dad.."
too curious to be ashamed
!!!!!!
I missed you too, very very very very very very much!
The ship comes up to meet them in mid-air. Scott hits the deck of the ship and then Scottie hits Scott. "Nice of you to drop in." The man's voice is instantly familiar, a figure looms over them. Scottie scoffs, "That is terrible and you should be ashamed." the man ignores her and offers a hand to Scott, "Hi, I'm Jeff. You must be Scott."
Scott’s faith in his counterpart is rewarded when the air seems to flicker and suddenly there’s a ship where there was no ship a second ago. Scott’s barely got time to roll and brace before he hits the deck with a hell of a thunk that makes him ache down to his toes. A second later Scottie barrels into him and Scott sees stars in more ways than one.
Scott’s about to say hey to the lady with her knee pressed to uncomfortable places when there’s a voice the firstborn hasn’t heard in oh, so long. It’s been so long now since Scott heard Dad’s voice he was afraid he might forget but no, he could never forget that gruffness.
Or the humor. It’s kinda nice to know that no matter what universe he’s in some things will never change. Scottie rolls off him and Scott mourns the loss. He can finally look up, at the hand that’s being held out to him and the guy waiting to pull him up. It’s Dad but not Scott’s Dad and it physically hurts to take that familiar hand.
Other things aren’t so familiar. Scott can’t help gawking at a scar that sticks out from beneath a leather eye patch, curling down Jeff’s check almost to a beard that Scott’s own father never had.
“Sir.” The first responder almost salutes. Almost.
Late night question: Who the fuck decides that printing this while everyone else sleeping is a good idea??
