sometimes i reblog posts to the wrong blog and i just cry a little because i realize the depth to which my laziness reaches by not wanting to fix it
*sighs* So that's it... This really is how it ends... As I said last night... Ladies and gentlemen... It has been a privilege blogging with you. Take care of yourselves, alright? Don't die out there. This is going to be a rant, soooo yeah, don't mind reading. Just wanted to type this out, AND DOWNSIDE TO COLLEGE: THE SMELL OF WEED IS ALL AROUND. barf barfing blechhhhh
It bothers me the way that people perceive religion, especially in the light of science. Yes, Christianity does believe that God made the earth. No, the timeline isn't exactly clear. Moses never clarifies what he means by the seven days, or what years are. For all we know, seven days could be figurative, it could be literal. A year may not be what we know as 365 days, but that's not even important. The important message of Christianity is that we, a broken race, need healing and perfect love, and that can only come from the perfect Creator. So when I see comics and such that mock the message that is integral to my life, pointing towards such a insignificant detail, it just ugh bothers me -- especially since that sort of snotty mocking isn't seen as intolerant or belittling. Yes, I don't fully know the context of the post, but still ugh bleh barf.
And who said religion can't go hand in hand with science? The Bible doesn't read as a science textbook, but it does say that as Christians, we serve a creative God. These things we learn in science, do you really believe that a series of happy coincidences caused the world to become as complicated and well-designed as it is? All the patterns seen around us, the beauty of nature and its intricate workings, is it really realistic to believe that it's just the result of a big bang and that's it? I don't think so. I believe God is creative, and he spent time molding such a wonderfully crafted world, full of beauty around every corner, and to use science and the Bible out of its context in such a manner, it just angers me. A lot. Maybe it's just 1 in the morning, I'm feeling discontented with my inability to dedicate time with Him, I haven't been working in a productive manner, I'm still feeling pretty lost, and inconsiderate/rude/whatever you want to call them people are bovvering me.
