Blanca Marsillach is out for vengeance in The Devil's Honey (1986). While director Lucio Fulci is mostly known for his iconic 70s giallos, he ventured in psychological horror/ BDSM territory with Il miele del diavolo. And it is extremely shocking. Even lead actress Blanca said, "I do not consider myself prudish, but I sincerely believe that Lucio has gone too far". The plot follows a mentally disturbed girl who loses her sadistic saxophonist bf to a freak accident/botched surgery, and then she kidnaps and tortures the masochistic surgeon she believes to be responsible. If that’s not weird enough, it turns into a love story. This film has to be seen to be believed but it truly goes off in the best way possible. . . . . . #thedevilshoney #italy #luciofulci #1980s #italiancinema #blancamarsillach #moviequotes #retro #horror #80s #ilmieledeldiavolo #dangerousobsession #italianhorror #film From • @living_dead_girls_ https://www.instagram.com/p/CjMvCpyDp8wmZIJ0fTxvUq4srmAEJiDK48NccA0/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
Still from “Blood and Black Lace”, directed by Mario Bava
Flesh Contagium (2020)
When this movie was first sent to me by producer Alex Visani , I was not eager to watch this film. Not because of his previous films as this is produced by Alex and directed by Lorenzo Lepori, but because it was a movie about a pandemic virus. I know horror has often hit the success button when releasing films in the right time to scare some one but for me I wasn't worried about being scared just more about being annoyed and depressed about a film that maybe at another time I would enjoy. I will simply copy and paste the films synopsis for you
"In a world devastated by a pandemic virus and dictatorial governments, a couple of fugitives try to survive the "executors". When they arrive in an abandoned fortress , looking for food and repair, the worst part of their journey begins"
This sounded way too bleak and similar to social media fear mongers then I wanted. This pandemic had not had a very good toll on me and mental health. However when I noticed a recent add for its release I noticed a monster on the cover and thought "Oh maybe this is not as heavy handed as I had thought. Monsters usually mean a more fun movie. “ So I watched it. Now I wouldn't say this movie is "fun" per say but it is much better than I expected. Its really a throw back to the Italian zombie films of 80s. Hell of the Living Dead and Zombi 3 come to mind. Not just because this movie is Italian. It is bleak and the characters are very uncomfortable people that are not exactly "likeable". However they are refreshingly rougher and less cookie cutter then most horror today. No ones going to say "Oh no im a zombie, this sucks, Im depressed, why I cant I do a tic tok about this?" , which is good. Also a refreshingly short film with a build up that makes you actually want more. The main thing in this is great amounts of blood and gross practical effects. Mutations and flesh eating abound. The image of men in hazmat suits telling you what to do as people resist them in turn making it worse is indeed an image that is not fun and may hit a little too home these days BUT when some of the hazmat suit guys go nuts and eat flesh too , you just sort of get over it. Impressive that a low budget film maker can make an effective piece that may exploit the time but also is comfortably fantasy enough that its an enjoyable horror movie. Like many low budget projects today , if this was film on 35 mm you wouldn't bat an eye as this is worthy of standing by the Italian gore flicks that horror hounds already love.

MACABRE (1980) An underrated, gruesome film. Lamberto Bava followed partly in his father Mario's footsteps— his work is even more disturbing. If you've not seen this one, get a copy. A cult classic of nauseating proportions. 💀 #Horror #LambertoBava #ItalianHorror #Macabre #Film #80sHorror #InstaHorror #HorrorMovies #Movies #Poster #HorrorAddict #Movies #Disturbing (at St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador) https://www.instagram.com/p/BzLUpMblm7k/?igshid=psyaazlh5bxo
