In The Bleak Midwinter theme analysis

Something I find absolutely fascinating is the extensive use of irony in this comic. Irony, by definition, is something happening or being said that means one thing but the opposite being true. Every single chapter builds on the extensive network of irony the creators have established from the beginning. Let me give examples.

Alexei, the hated one of the fandom.

(is the thing that he accused robots of, ruthless and conniving with only love of power and greed; discards any love or affection he may hold for his own gain; resembles modern day politicians and people of power with his deceptions)

Anya, the beloved main character.

(thinks of herself as weak/not strong/useless while being the key to the war and the most vital player for both sides; is revealed to be 0% percent human while retaining more humanity than most of the humans)

Delta, the manipulative juxtaposition.

(tries to appear psychopathic yet is very emotionally influenced whenever anyone related to him is involved; seen to parallel Alexei but as the android's sort-of "leader" during season one and how he possesses no ambitions for himself and is only concerned for his relations; very insecure and towers around as strong)

Ivan, the person everyone wishes would take Alexei's job.

(constantly is the metaphorical bad cop yet more willing than Alexei to bargain and work with those he considers enemies; curses the wolf yet saved his life and developed a close bond; is framed to be emotionally but is very logical)

Omega, the most "human" android.

(seemingly the softest yet has the least amount of bonds with others and seems to struggle or not be able to connect on a level of mutual understanding with many; narratively presented as the second most important character yet has some of the least information known)
