the michaels taking care of you when sick
► yes, they love you and want to take care of you, but they will also be doing that from the opposite side of the room.. whilst wearing a surgical mask and gloves.. and maybe a hazmat suit if they can find it
► they will be reading several books on what to do, they haven’t had to deal with human disease in so long they’ve mostly forgotten what to do
► eventually they settle on a safe bet of chicken noodle soup and carefully slide the bowl over to you with a stick
► since they refuse to cuddle with you until you are germ free, they instead give you a few soft mounts to cuddle instead
► after you’re better, they disinfect the entire bed. twice. just to be sure
► the MOMENT he hears you cough, you are going to bed
► no, he doesn’t care if you say you’re fine, you are getting taken care of whether you like it or not
► you’re pretty much strapped to his bed for the entire time
► he will make you so much food, literally. whatever you ask for, he will make and serve it to you in bed (again, you’re not leaving it)
► so much cuddling, when he’s not making you your fifth tea of the day, he is pressed right against you, sickness be damned. if he dies, he dies
► if the sickness is particularly bad, he will offer at home surgery. you’re not exactly sure how being cut open would help and neither is he, but if you want him to, he’s down
► once you’re better, it’s now your turn to return the favor. all that cuddling didn’t exactly do him well now that he’s whining about having a stuffy nose
► very methodical about it
► he keeps a safe distance away while still properly caring for you. he’s not particularly squeamish when it comes to germs, he just also can’t afford a sick day
► he will be wearing gloves the entire time. just let him, he barely gets a good excuse to wear his gloves outside of work
► at first, he does over panic a bit
► his mind is running through all the worst possible things you could have from the symptom ‘runny nose’
► you’ll have to remind him that it’s most likely just a cold and you’re not leaking spinal fluid or something
► after that little hurdle, he’s fairly composed and ready to take care of you. he’ll bring you food and water when you ask for it, make sure your pain meds are taken on time to the minute, and treat you as if you were a proper patient. it’s not that he isn’t worried, he’s still extremely worried, he’s just.. compartmentalizing
► he isn’t overly touchy, but if you ask him, he’ll run a (gloved) hand through your hair or let you hold his hand. he might grumble a bit, but he’s just sad he can’t hold you more
► when he finds out you’re sick, you’re already doomed to being monitored by him
► he needs to keep watch of you all day, but he also has to work, so where do you end up for most of the day? his lap
► surely it’s just because of how strategic of a position it is to keep an eye on you while still working and the fact that he can rest his chin on your head is merely a side effect
► be warned, he is taking notes
► every pained croak or sniffle, he is jotting them down and making a graph of improvement vs unimprovement
► he isn’t particularly worried about getting sick, considering it’s a tall task to ask of a man without any proper organs to spread the infection, so all of his attention is on you.. and his work, definitely his work, totally
► when he finally gets a few hours break, he’s first making sure you get food, water, and vitamins
► his second priority is getting you back to his bed so you both can squeeze in as much sleep as possible before his next shift
► you may not be well rested in the typical sense, but at the very least he won’t mind you dozing off in his arms while he works on repairs
► you will be holed up in his house for the next two weeks
► he’s canceled all of his fights indefinitely in order to make sure your okay, fighting crime can wait, you come first
► you will be binging a lot of anime in the next few weeks, he saw an opportunity to finally get you to watch his favorites and he’s not gonna waste it
► he doesn’t really have any of the sick food staples, but he will make you drink an obscene amount of vitamin c packets. he swears they saved his life one time and will not elaborate
► he probably also gets sick about two days into taking care of you, so you both end up lying in bed with snacks strategically placed so neither of you have to get up
► he’ll probably convince you to pretend to still be sick for a week after you’ve already gotten better just because he’s not ready to go back to work yet. the bed is too comfy and you’re already halfway through a season anyway
