So I’ve been trying to dodge graphic work lately, as to make more time for fine art, but there’s still a couple of jobs I can’t pass on here n there. So to speed that up, I bought myself an I-pad last week, along a pencil n @procreate software. I am still trying to learn how to use it, but here is my first real attempt, painted this traditional dancing lady for a festival I will be live painting in Mexico next May. I have to admit that Im really surprised how quick, easy n nice it came out! She asked for me to draw one of several OCs, with free range over what I could do with them. So, I drew her OC, Itotia! I was really hooked by the part of his description where Matla said he always smells like flowers, and is based off of an Aztec god; as such, I tried to give him a sort of “Flower God” feel in this drawing!
I’ve also got a watercolor version that I am working on in my spare time as a sort of “calm down” project; same lines, but will probably have a different feel to it.
So I recently had the urge to put Ito in modern 1st world city environs vs his natural tribal jungle society environs. This is roughly what a human!Ito in such a place would look like. I'm lazy and not that good at drawing full body so this will have to do for now for references.
Dancing is still his favorite activity, and he likes to sing as well. His dream is to be at least a semi-famous pop star, or at least be able to make a living doing what he loves; dance.
He has a fondness for birds and his family raises some. His pet bird, a cockatoo named Jaques, is one of his best friends in the world.
