Nadia had always heard people whispering about colors. Wondering what it might be like to see them, or what colors their hair or eyes or skin were, besides light or dark. She even knew people who’d faked it, who’d pretended that everything was different just because they’d found someone they’d wanted to get together with.

It had always seemed so silly. The world was the way it was, and even finding your soulmate couldn’t change that!

But then one day, one ordinary day while she was walking down the street, a stranger happened to bump into her. And though it wasn’t much more than a nudge, Nadia ended up falling to the ground out of shock.

Because in that moment, she couldn’t make any sense of what she was seeing - she was almost convinced that everything had just exploded.
