finding nemo 2 should have been about nemo growing up and struggling with his dad being overbearing because he's still disabled (tiny fin) and the ocean is a dangerous place for a fish that can't always swim away and he talks to dory about it for advice because her memory problems help her understand what he's going through and then they have an equally intense journey together that parallels the first movie and also has messages about conservation and how growing up involves moving into a world that is dangerous (and even more hostile if you're disabled) and how the answer is the acceptance that being alive always comes with risk and communities should be able to support each other rather than individual caretakers feeling obligated to be overbearing in the name of "safety". and also there can be some dramatic scene where marlin is like "why do you have to leave I can't lose you again" and nemo is like "you found me dad but I need to find... myself" and it's used in all of the trailers and marketing. do you get my vision. i didn't watch finding dory
