“Women too. And lots of other people,” snorts Nina. “Great job, y’all. Time to get back to the airlock. Ready?”

He’s not, actually.

“Just a few hours more,” he wants to say. But who is he kidding? He could stay out here a lifetime and not see enough. Not feel enough. Not think enough. Not know enough about himself or where he is meant to be.

Instead he says, “Ready.” Because he has to be. He wants to be. And right now, that’s enough.
