I’m calling Ruse.

Ok.

10 years ago, my heart stopped at this scene:

Immediately my brain said NO NO NO NO NO NO NO.

A show wouldn’t kill off a main character, especially the main love interest it had invested so much time into developing.

As my friends sat around me watch episode after episode telling me I was crazy, that he died, I said NO.  This was a ruse, a ploy, he wasn’t dead.  No one was emotional at his funeral, they all just stood there.  Sydney was pregnant with his baby and she just stood there.  

Well joke was on them when he showed up ALIVE:

They “killed” him off to protect him from the big bad that was coming after him.  They killed him off so he could fight secretly to bring them down.

That is what I believe they have done with Felicity.  The scene in the cage with she and Oliver made me think it right when that happened.  I don’t remember his exact quote but Felicity was questioning his tactic of turning himself in and his answer was somewhat vague & fishy.  It made me double take, I think he began to plan this the minute she was taken.  

Here is my theory:

I feel like somehow Malcolm got a man or two into ghost uniforms (”He’s off on official League business” Really Oliver?  Where did he really go?).  Their man was the one who “shot” Felicity.  Notice they didn’t shot into the car where they were until AFTER Oliver moved.

I think Oliver knew she would be a target, DD would always come after her so he had to remove her from DD’s leverage.

She is going to “die” and then possibly begin to take down HIVE from a remote location.

I trust our writers.  They would never kill her for real.  

Maybe I’m wrong, maybe she sits up in the hospital and someone else is in that grave.  But I find it very suspicious that Mama Smoak isn’t by that grave 24/7 if Felicity were really in there.  Why is only Oliver there?  I smell a ruse.

I picked it out once before and I had the same gut reaction this time.  She may “die” but she will be back. 

Oliver is different from Sydney and is fighting a different enemy.  He was super emotional in the previews and I think it was because he has to let DD believe he has beat him, broken him down.  He has to get the advantage back to his side if he is going to win.

This may connect directly into The Calculator, maybe Oliver gets him to come to town (or Malcolm) with the idea that his daughter was killed.

Oh boy, I’m excited.  And VERY glad this hiatus isn’t until MARCH! C’mon OUAT, I can only take so long of a wait :)
