After being found guilty, she was sentenced to less than two months in a Russian prison, and fined 15,000 rubles, (the equivalent to $375 in the United States). _________________________________________ Despite being found with having only 0.792 grams of marijuana in the form of vape pens, basketball star Brittney Griner was sentenced to nine years in prison and ordered to pay one million rubles (the equivalent to $16,400 in the United States). _________________________________________ Many people have taken notice of the injustice and believe that it’s the result of discrimination toward Black women. “Everybody talking about the law in Russia and the law is the law but LITERALLY in 2019, Audrey Lorber was arrested for THE EXACT SAME THING and she had 19 grams! 19!
