Tonight, we had the opportunity to hear Jackson Katz riff on masculinity, gender violence, and ways we can step up to end violence. It was worth it to stay late at the end of the night to have my book signed and tell him about my dissertation! Gender violence is not just a women’s issue; men need to be at the table so we can begin to break down the toxic masculinity that reinforces rape culture. The #metoo movement is powerful, but it will be even more powerful if we take action.
