Irony and Comedy within the Project
A lot, if not all, of the work within the supermarket reflections of this project, contains a sour hint of irony or comedy. This is a very specific, profound choice in the way that a lot of the issues and problems that I have at work need belittling and made fun of, because ultimately any complaints are frankly, pretty pathetic and unjustified.
For example, I once heard a colleague complain because she was leaving work 10 minutes late. One Time. Which, on the scale of the world, is irrelevant, and, even within Jobs in England, is not unheard of by any means. This sense of bitching and whining is why I feel that the entire subject needs to be made fun of. I still feel it is an entirely worthy subject to look at and talk about in my work, and this is how I feel it should be represented.
As a result, I can only hope that people actually find my work funny.
