Mrs Rhodes is trying to get her periods under control. She has an appt for an IUD placement and in typical Connor fashion he goes with her 🥺❤️
Summary: Y/N faces the discomfort of an IUD placement, but with her loving husband Connor by her side, she finds strength and comfort in his support, helping her through the tough moments with love and reassurance.
Y/N had been struggling with her periods for months. The cramping, the discomfort, the constant fluctuation of hormones that left her exhausted and sometimes emotionally drained. It had taken a while to get to this point—finally scheduling an appointment to get an IUD placed to help regulate everything.
The last time she had an IUD placed, it had been a nightmare. The pain was unbearable, the cramps afterward almost made her pass out, and the emotional rollercoaster she rode for weeks afterward left her feeling far from herself. She swore she’d never do it again.
But after talking with her gynecologist, she’d decided it was the right choice. She had to give it another try. And in true Connor fashion, her loving husband wouldn’t hear of her going alone. He made sure he took the day off from the hospital to be with her.
“Sweetheart, you okay?” Connor asked softly, his voice full of concern as they waited in the small exam room.
Y/N tried to smile, but the anxiety was making her heart race. “Yeah, just nervous. I know it’s the best choice, but… last time wasn’t easy.”
Connor reached over, giving her hand a gentle squeeze. “I know, babe. I was right there with you the last time. And I’ll be right here this time, too. You don’t have to do this alone.”
She nodded, taking a deep breath. Connor’s presence had always been a comfort, especially when things felt overwhelming. He’d been there for her through every hurdle—every health setback, every tough decision. And knowing he’d be there this time, too, made it feel a little easier.
Just then, the door opened, and her doctor walked in, flashing a warm smile. “Good morning, Y/N! Ready to get started?”
She nodded and gave a small, forced smile. “I’m ready.”
As the procedure began, Y/N gripped Connor’s hand tightly. His thumb stroked the back of her hand soothingly, his eyes never leaving hers. The pain was sharp as the doctor placed the IUD, and Y/N couldn’t help but wince, squeezing her eyes shut.
“I’m right here, sweetheart,” Connor murmured, his voice soft and steady, trying to keep her grounded.
The procedure seemed to drag on forever. But eventually, it was over. She could feel the tension leave her body as the doctor finished up, and she let out a shaky breath, relieved it was done.
Connor kissed her forehead gently. “You did great. How do you feel?”
Y/N exhaled slowly, her eyes still closed as the doctor took her vitals and prepared to leave. “Sore, but I’ll be okay. It’s not as bad as last time, thankfully.”
Once the doctor left and they were alone, Y/N sat up slowly, looking at Connor, who was smiling down at her. His hand rested softly on her knee.
“You are so strong, you know that?” Connor said, his voice filled with admiration. “I’m so proud of you.”
Y/N chuckled softly, still feeling the residual pain but grateful for his unwavering support. “I didn’t feel very strong during that.”
“Even when you don’t feel it, you’re stronger than you give yourself credit for,” Connor replied, his voice full of affection.
“Thanks, Con,” Y/N said quietly. “I don’t know what I’d do without you.”
“You don’t have to,” he smiled back, his eyes full of love. “You’ve got me for as long as you need. And when you’re ready to leave, I’ve got a comfy couch at home waiting for you and a big bowl of your favorite soup. You’ve earned it.”
Y/N smiled back at him, feeling a wave of relief wash over her. Despite the discomfort and the nerves leading up to it, Connor was always there for her, making everything feel a little lighter.
When they finally left the office, she felt exhausted but thankful. And as they made their way to the car, Connor reached over and squeezed her hand.
“You’re incredible,” he said simply, and Y/N couldn’t help but smile.
“I’m only incredible because I have you by my side.”
