It’s big mom hours! So I mentioned wanting to write lore about Red and Blue but to do that you had to know about their carrier. And here she is!
Ivywhip(alt form drone? Those big ass ones??) Ivywhip is a Cold Constructed bot who was built and programmed to become a Decepticons medic. She learned quickly and never talked back, in fact rarely talking at all her first few years. She liked to stay back and learn by watching until finally she took the reigns from the former medic and began her work. She was a brilliant scientist and medic, fixing even the worst wounds and creating an algorithm that would prove to be her downfall.
During this time period of Cold Constructing Decepticons struggled to find adequate amounts of resource and due to prejudice, and how easily new bots fell, they began to search for a way to create sparklings. They began kidnapping young bots and doing experiments, often led by Ivywhip when she wasn’t working as a medic to fix warriors. At first, she ignored her misgivings with it and focused on her algorithm. This algorithm created a perfect mold that would help incubate a sparkling until they found their alt mode. The mold quickened the process and from there they grew quite rapidly. With a way to create organic sparklings in a short amount of time, Decepticons ordered they be released ASAP.
Each mold held two sparklings for twice the soldiers. Many were failures but few succeeded. Coding and rules were ingrained into them and certain protocols were put into them to create a lethal weapon. Each pair was sent off to a mentor to learn and train before being sent to the field. When Ivywhip saw Red and Blue, a platonic spark connection was formed and thus led to her mentoring the pair. With a mix of soldier training and Ivywhip’s medic/scientist teachings, they became highly intelligent and strong warriors.
Before they were sent off Ivywhip was flown to a particularly vicious battle and met Ratchet. With her already rocky feelings towards the Decepticons, Red and Blue and Ratchet finally flipped a switch. Though she and Ratchet started off on the wrong foot they began speaking in secret and forming a smuggling trade where Ivywhip could send back injured bots or sparklings for the Autobots to help. Her relationship with Ratchet was completely platonic, more of a friendly rivalry of skill and wit. She voiced her fears about sending Red and Blue out to the field and curated a plan with Ratchet to save them.
During a battle when most Decepticons were away from her base, Ivywhip began planting bombs and tampering with the bases coding. She told Red and Blue that they would be sent to find Ratchet. Giving them her drive of notes and cures, she wished them good luck. When Red and Blue were on an escape pod, she waited until the commander and several soldiers of the base came back before setting off the bombs and effectively offlining a major base, several soldiers, and herself.
