hi! feel free to ignore this, but i wanted to ask if you knew any british fantasy novels where promises/deals were an important part of the plot? i'm trying to brainstorm a topic for my ba thesis, but i'm currently stuck at "naomi novik's spinning silver good. write about spinning silver", but i'm technically supposed to specialize in british lit, so i need a british author too :(
Hmmmm. Spinning Silver is a Rumpelstiltskin retelling, and Rumpelstiltskin is German in origin, so that’s a tough one! I don’t pay much attention to author nationality usually so I’m afraid I can’t help you very much, but I’m going to publish this question to see if any of my followers have any suggestions for you!

3. What is your favorite all-time fic?
The fic I loved most while reading was Dancing with Demons (Naruto) by Daystar Clarion, but sadly it’s been discontinued. Instead, please have A Completely Different Untitled Police Force John Fic (Sherlock) and especially its sequel The Inconsequential Death of Mr. Stevens by stickstockstone. You won’t find a cuter johnlock fic.
20. What’s the weirdest fic you’ve ever read? Describe it.
No idea. NO IDEA. I mean I like some crack!fics but that’s a different question. Oh who cares you are getting a crack!fic from me. Adaptation (Death Note) by Silver Pard features a Light who has spontaneously changed into a girl and decides to roll with it.
34. Name a common type of fic that you cannot stand.
Genre-wise, I’m not a fan of hurt/comfort or angst because those tend to get super whiny. Mpreg is an instant nope and I don’t usually like soulmate fics because of consent issues.
This made me look through my old favorites on FFnet and wow so many great fics there. I should totally reread them all.
