This has been a very tiring topic, but this is my only 2 cents on the EA situation.

Please do not fear monger with this news. I think this is the last thing this community needs at the moment. These are investors, they aren’t going to 'delete' The Sims. It's happening with a lot of gaming companies at the moment, and obviously I don't fully support the idea given who's behind it, but it's a transition we're seeing just about everywhere unfortunately and have to live with. As for the diversity situation, keep in mind, this isn't Maxis' first rodeo, and it certainly won't be their last, but they've remained firm about their inclusion of diversity in the last decades. At the end of the day, the direction is still in their hands.

There is nothing wrong with you still wanting to enjoy the game, but I think it's also important to know that as a player and consumer, we have the opportunity to vote with our wallets and I heavily encourage you guys to use that power to your advantage. This is a monetary issue, so hit them where it hurts the most. There are tools, resources and people more than willing to aid you to stop supporting EA.

Please enjoy your game, post your stories, interact with your favorite simblr blogs, a sense of community is what is needed most in a time like this.

We're doing early access mods/cc for an INDIE game that has been out for no more than 3 DAYS?

If you're gonna be a bunch of greed driven motherfuckers, keep it in the sims 4 and leave that newly started community of players alone... holy FUCK, dude.

Just gonna make something clear here.

As an artist, I guess this whole situation is making me a lot more emotive on the matter, but I've reached a point where I don't give a fuck if I come off as dramatic for it.

If you use AI in any capacity, get off my page, unfollow me, and block me.

Some of you using AI to code, fill in gaps for cc, or literally just writing ideas for gameplay/cc is a new level of laziness that needs to be studied at this rate. If you're using AI to code, you've officially just admitted to everyone you couldn't give less of a shit about putting poorly/unchecked coded files into other people's games. DO tell me how you're going to fix them in upcoming updates. Is the AI code gonna be able to work around the absolute spaghetti-shite code that is Sims 4?

If you're using ai to generate swatches for your cc or to fill in gaps you don't want to do, congrats. You're just proving to people that you've lost the love of the game with this stuff and just wanna pump shit out for the sake of pumping shit out. Is burnout a thing? Yep! Absolutely. I've had it multiple times. Taking a break and changing your scenery is the solution, not half-assing your work and serving it on a questionable plate. If you plan a piece of cc with the intention to skip so many of those steps, are you sure you even wanna make it in the first place? If you're using ai to give you ideas for gameplay or cc. I legit have nothing tame to say to you. Pinterest is free and scrolling on here to find gameplay ideas is...... -checks notes-, also free. Play another game if this one is currently making you creatively bankrupt.

The fact that I have to double-check almost everything I download now is a little sad. I'm seeing an influx of creators who used to make their stuff A to Z from scratch, now filling in gaps of their work with AI, which tells me that they're completely fine with just giving that kind of quality for players who have loved and (in some cases) supported their work for YEARS. It's distasteful.

What happened to making/creating stuff here for the genuine sake of just, having fun? Never in a million years would I ask chatgpt to give me a mesh to texture, because the idea of learning to make it, falling face flat a couple of times from failing, and eventually getting it right is unironically the most human and artistically pleasant part of it.

Don't come into my comments going "if its not your thing just ignore it". You're right, and I will. But I will also choose to publicly shame the people using a 'tool' that is currently taking away jobs, polluting our air, destroying people's neighborhoods, ridding areas of their clean water, causing people psychoses back and forth, AND statistically making us dumber.

Wake up and educate yourselves, or rot into the delusion. I'm done being tame about this topic.

Making one last post before bed about this cause im having fun with this little project :D

I've successfully made the 10 colors I wanted and all of them have their own respective glow color! There's going to be 3 variants (one isnt here rn cause apparently I... dont have the file in my game? LOL)

Minor downside right now is that despite merging the files together... the colors are all still showing up as seperate cc in-game. I'm going to need to troubleshoot this tomorrow. Wondering if changing the method and doing "Add CAS part swatch" instead of "Create CAS Standalone" would fix my issue.

Dug too deep into capitalist TS4 community again and found a mf making a paid patreon tier for cc making tutorials???

I open the dictionary, look for the word greed, and some of yalls faced are INTRICATELY PAINTED under that word, I swear to fucking god.

I need to stop putting my whole bussy into these cc post sims cause I dont even use them, so I end up with baddies like these picking up dust in my library

I wanna bring a little positivity around here and try and turn this into a bit more of a learning thing, so if anyone is interested, this is how I make my stars in blender! (I'm using 3.6)

I've done it for the earrings, but also for my mooncaster hat and moon maiden set, its quick and kinda fun honestly :3

1. Under "Add", create a 'circle' mesh and under the add circle settings (bottom left), set the vertices to 10 (this will give you a 5 pointed star as the final result, you can play with that number as well! I did 8 for that 4 pointed star charm on the hat! The bigger the number, the more points your star will have!)

2. English is not englishing but like, grab a vertice (point), then skip, then grab the one after, kinda like a sequence, you'll end up with 5 selected. Press S to scale it until it magically forms into a star!

3. Press A to select all, then press f to fill. Now we have a flat star!

4. To give it volume, just keep the whole thing selected and press e, this will extrude the star, you can send it upwards to however thick you want it :)

5. Select that little loop cut tool I highlighted there, then hover on your star and aim for the center of the edge and apply the loop cut.

6. Unselect the loop cut tool (so you dont accidentally make more LOL) and make sure you have your newly made edge selected only, then press S. play around with it until it has the volume you want!

7. You now have a little star :D

Like I mentioned, you can set the number of vertices when creating the circle to get different stars like im showing here below, they make for very easy shapes on uv maps and they look cute when smoothened with the shade smooth :3

(in order here, first is set at 10 vertices, 2nd is 8, and last is 14)
